I was saying, in Frisbee, there is no option to connect and disconnect like in Pwireless for people like me who have more than one access point to choose from.
I guess you want a one button solution. If I were to switch between two wireless networks I would create a different profile for each, and then use the frisbee "configure wireless..." tab to switch between them. Switching to a line LAN would involve clicking on the "configure network..." tab, and selecting the appropriate line. That's clearly more than a one button operation.

Does it work with Wary 5.1.1?

Has anyone managed to get Frisbee to work with Wary 5.1.1?
Right now I am using the small version with Kernel 2.6.32.28.

Hello,
I am currently preparing the next version Edutainment Francophone Puppy (Toutou Edux/ASRI Edu).

I use Puppy 525 Lucid and Frisbee.

My problem:
- I notice frequent disconnect/reconnect network
- This results in the appearance of a first xpupsay that informs connection is lost, a 2nd xpupsay informs that DHCP server has reconnected

This comportrement is not practical because the screen is regularly occupied by the xpupsay.

Have you ever seen this behavior (disconnect/reconnect) with Frisbee?
Do you have a track resolution?

Sincerely,

(sorry if my English is understandable, I translated with Google)

Apparently the dhcpcd that frisbee recommended - is for Fluppy/Puppeee not Puppy5 see the following thread.

also have you added the instant update?
Instant Update 001 for Lucid Puppy 5.2.5 (known as the Bigpup Update) ->
http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/dis ... te-001.pet
The update
--> fixes Bootflash which did not work in the release of Lucid 5.2.5
--> fixes xgamma-gui which did not work in the release of Lucid 5.2.5
--> updates Psync to be aware of both UTC and local system time
--> updates Firewallstate to leave program icon off on reboot when turned off
--> adds report-video-glx which might be a useful standard for diagnosing video issues
--> adds ffconvert to convert between video formats
--> updates the Lupu PPM in Puppy Package Manager
--> links Help to LupuNews Help

One more precision.

ethernet or wifi : the problem is the same (frequent disconnect/reconnect network).

That is quite strange that you get interruption to ethernet. Might be worth posting a question in Hardware networking sub-forum.

Frisbee reconnects

Reconnects of Frisbee are a known bug. (See puppeee linux forum). I use Frisbee on puppeee linux 44 RC2 and experience the same (WIFI).
Jemimah was working on that when she decided to take a brief holiday. It has become a long holiday, so the problem may be severe...LOL.

Hello Volhout,

Thanks, I will see puppeee forum.

A few weeks ago, I tried to contact Jemimah to propose to locate Frisbee (en-fr), but no response.
The extended vacation from Jemimah = bad news for the community Puppy.
I hope she will return.

I'm not dead - I just ran out of steam. The good news is I've lost 20 pounds and got a bit of a tan. :D

Frisbee delay

Hi Jamimah,
I'm glad you are still with us and hopefully recharging. So I thought to try some light asking... :D

Tried to use Frisbee in XOpup (lupus 5.1.1+) and works fine by just adding a longer sleep in rc.services so the wlan interface is up first.

However, after wake from suspend it comes up too fast before wlan is up and fails.
Increasing the WTIMEOUT in config to 30 does not improve things.
I need to open Frisbee and "Wireless Network Reset" in order to reconnect.

So the question is if there is any way to delay Frisbee run after wakeup or/end issue the wireless reset commands form a post resume script? (Tried Frisbee --reset-wpa -hdcp or issuing the reset-wpa, -dhcp function commands form a script , but no luck)

Hopefully this is not too heavy for you 8)

Best

OK, I got it going in XOpup :D

It should be usable in other 5.x pupplets provided that you backup your rc.local and re-instate it after pet installation and before reboot, since the XOpup pet version will mess it up and probably brake your system!
