No, when i do that, the whole wlan shuts down or wakes up

I cannot change my wlan access points easily. I have to delete the profile of the first access point and create a profile for the access point i want to connect always. It is a hassle.

If I have the connect and disconnect button, i just need to select my current access point and click disconnect and select the new access point and click connect.

It would be much easier for people who have multiple wlan access points to choose from

Since I'm traveling, I've had a good opportunity to test this out, moving from one sight to another. All I've had to do is right-click the icon for "set up networking", add a profile and I'm on. You can edit past profiles (delete them if you want, but it's not necessary for getting on a new sight)....very simple. Once on, it stays on.

How should i put it? Let me try again

In my house, there are two networks. One is mine and one belongs to everyone in my apartment. It is provided by the real estate. The one belonging to everyone in the apartment is very fast at night.

So when it is night, i disconnect from my access point, and i connect to that access point.

I was saying, in Frisbee, there is no option to connect and disconnect like in Pwireless for people like me who have more than one access point to choose from.

Please note that; using the stock Frisbee in Fluppy13, I cannot connect to an WPA2 encrypted network. As the vast majority of my internet connectivity utilizes opportunistic wireless (unencrypted) hot-spots, this is only of minor consequence to me and is posted only for information.

I guess you want a one button solution. If I were to switch between two wireless networks I would create a different profile for each, and then use the frisbee "configure wireless..." tab to switch between them. Switching to a line LAN would involve clicking on the "configure network..." tab, and selecting the appropriate line. That's clearly more than a one button operation.

Does it work with Wary 5.1.1?

Has anyone managed to get Frisbee to work with Wary 5.1.1?
Right now I am using the small version with Kernel 2.6.32.28.

Hello,
I am currently preparing the next version Edutainment Francophone Puppy (Toutou Edux/ASRI Edu).

I use Puppy 525 Lucid and Frisbee.

My problem:
- I notice frequent disconnect/reconnect network
- This results in the appearance of a first xpupsay that informs connection is lost, a 2nd xpupsay informs that DHCP server has reconnected

This comportrement is not practical because the screen is regularly occupied by the xpupsay.

Have you ever seen this behavior (disconnect/reconnect) with Frisbee?
Do you have a track resolution?

Sincerely,

(sorry if my English is understandable, I translated with Google)

Apparently the dhcpcd that frisbee recommended - is for Fluppy/Puppeee not Puppy5 see the following thread.

also have you added the instant update?
Instant Update 001 for Lucid Puppy 5.2.5 (known as the Bigpup Update) ->
http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/dis ... te-001.pet
The update
--> fixes Bootflash which did not work in the release of Lucid 5.2.5
--> fixes xgamma-gui which did not work in the release of Lucid 5.2.5
--> updates Psync to be aware of both UTC and local system time
--> updates Firewallstate to leave program icon off on reboot when turned off
--> adds report-video-glx which might be a useful standard for diagnosing video issues
--> adds ffconvert to convert between video formats
--> updates the Lupu PPM in Puppy Package Manager
--> links Help to LupuNews Help

One more precision.

ethernet or wifi : the problem is the same (frequent disconnect/reconnect network).

by darkcity
That is quite strange that you get interruption to ethernet. Might be worth posting a question in Hardware networking sub-forum.

Reconnects of Frisbee are a known bug. (See puppeee linux forum). I use Frisbee on puppeee linux 44 RC2 and experience the same (WIFI).
Jemimah was working on that when she decided to take a brief holiday. It has become a long holiday, so the problem may be severe...LOL.

Thanks, I will see puppeee forum.

A few weeks ago, I tried to contact Jemimah to propose to locate Frisbee (en-fr), but no response.
The extended vacation from Jemimah = bad news for the community Puppy.
I hope she will return.

I'm not dead - I just ran out of steam. The good news is I've lost 20 pounds and got a bit of a tan. :D
