You do not say what version of 4.31 you are using,jac123 wrote:...sorry. i don't know how.. can u please upload the hacked initrd.gz of puppy 4.3.1???? thanks
there are 3 different ones:The attached archive contains the hacked initrd.gz for the latter of those 3
- pup-431-k2.6.21.7-scsi-intel_modems.iso
pup-431-k2.6.25.16-intel_modems.iso
pup-431.iso <-- this one uses kernel k2.6.30.5
Download it then unpack it and copy it to where your current initrd.gz is (after removing your current one),
it is probably best if you move your current one somewhere safe (rather than deleting it), just in case you need to restore it.
The attached image shows the difference between the default and hacked initrd.gz's

Hi
GRUB, GRUBforDOS, SYSLINUX or the LiveCD ?
You need to add pfix=noram to the kernel line of the config file of whatever bootloader you are using.
CatDude
EDIT:
Looking at your screenshot it looks like you are booting from a USB drive,
so i assume that you are using SYSLINUX as the bootloader.
I am not familiar with that bootloader,
but i think you need to edit a file called: syslinux.cfg
Open it in a text editor and find the line that starts with append initrd=
and add pfix=noram to the end of that line.
.
