I just tried installing Flash and received the exact same error message. Glib-2.10.2 is currently installed. I will see what I can do about finding a newer version.

I found an answer. Install a slightly older version.

Addendum:

If this still doesn't work, install Java first. (I know that it will work after that.)

If you go to a site with flash (hoping that it asks for an older version), you might land at flash7 download (700 KB), and when you decompress and read the readme, it will just tell you to copy

flashplayer.xpt
libflashplayer.so

to your /usr/lib/firefox/plugins directory. That's all!

You can also do a search for flash7 version.

Addition: OK, for your convenience, get Flash 7 here.

I copied the flash xpt and so files to the firefox plugins directory and flash now works! Not only that Firefox loads nice and fast - in 10- 15 seconds. Thanks very much! And Merry Christmas!

Litepup 2.12, 2.13 and 2.14 have been have all been the same as iPup but without Firefox. Basically iPup lives on as Litepup.

I'm making my first baby steps in linux.

I'm trying to run puppy on a 128MB RAM laptop. The program runs swiftly until I install firefox. It becomes then very sluggish, even if I let it reboot after installation.
I thought that I was maybe doing something wrong and was therefore hopping with your iPup to see if a correct installation of Firefox caused the same problem.

I just ran your litepup version but miss there the tool present in the standard package which allows one to create an internet connection. I'm sure it is possible to create this connection without the tool but do not have the skills to do it.

Can you help me out somehow by either:
-telling me how to correctly install firefox without slowing down puppy
-sending me an old version of iPup you still have lying around

In addition if you can post a link to a page explaining how one can create an internet connection without the tool present in the standard puppy package...

I am really at a loss. I sent a "private message" to Barry, but haven't received a reply. I remember there being a way to speed up Firefox, but don't remember what it is. (Thus the "private message" to Barry.)

Which Puppy did you base this on? Did you use Unleashed?

May I suggest, to avoid confusion, that you add the base Puppy version to your version, e.g. iPup-2.14-1.03?

Also, perhaps, a brief summary of changes made? Might be good to start a "history" file on your website.

I have created a new iPup. This current release is based on BarelyPup. However, I am working on setting up my own divergent line (similar to what Grafpup has done), based on 2.13 framework but with updated files. It takes a lot of work but. . .I think it will be worth it.
