Test driving it (in 16.07.3 actually). Seems to have no problems using profile from previous Light (on external media). I'll try and use it daily for now and update the whole Sc shebang on the next iso release.

Edit: I did have to remove and reinstall Ghostery to get it working properly. Pretty simple and quick.

Delta downloaded, 16.08.1 iso generated, md5sum checks. 16.07.3 savefile cleaned of kernel stuff (not essential but I usually do if I know the kernel is being changed just to keep the cruft down) and checked, frugal install on the core 2 duo laptop went normally (once I remembered to include the f_drv :? ). All settings and PWF 4.1 wireless connection ok, glxgears FPS over 1600 with Opera open... good for this laptop. I was already running Light 48.0 so no change there.

Thanks ally! With the adrv and fdrv, 16.08.99 seems to be behaving for me so far. :)

By the way, how does one drag a file from one folder to another in Lxde? It does not seem to accept this when I try it.

edit: Nevermind, I figured it out. You have to click on the down arrow on top left and switch from "Places" to "Directory Tree".

edit2: Hmmm, renaming folders seems like another task not easy to accomplish. Ahhh I have to right-click to select, then go into "Edit" at the top navigation bar and select "Rename", or switch to "Directory Tree" mode again and do it on the left side.

Hello,
I downloaded LxPupSc 16.08.2 - the iso link given in this same thread.
http://archive.org/download/Puppy_Linux ... 6.08.2.iso

Every thing went on fine. I booted / installed LxPupSc 18.0.2 using USB .

When I was supposed to boot from the HDD, it gave the following error:

Code: Select all

Starting Up...
early console in extract_kernel
input-data: 0x01ef4108
input_len: 0x0050aedc
output_data:0x01000000
output_len:0x00d02b10
kernel_total_size:0x00ef4000

Decompressing Linux...
XZ-compressed data is corrupt
 --- System halted

can some one help me with this ? how to fix this error?
Thanks,
Prasad.

Sounds like a corrupt download...

Please download 16.08.1 and the 16.08.1-16.08.2 delta from sourceforge and check the md5's after applying the delta.

Downloaded from Ally's site version and md5sum reports this

Code: Select all

# md5sum /root/Downloads/LxPupSc-16.08.2.iso
aa3d9d70554045461965eee0cfb267c8 /root/Downloads/LxPupSc-16.08.2.iso
Accurate?

Peebee, I've had someone post that light-48.0 is playing youtube videos at a faster speed, I can confirm this on X-Slacko and X-Tahr. Is this the case with LxPup as well? I'm assuming it's html5 as no flash player is installed.

Afraid I don't know as that is now an old superceded version that I don't have a copy of.

Ally - grateful if you could delete it please - thanks.

Is built with latest 'testing' branch of woof-ce and therefore has:

- updated init system (sfs loading handled differently) - should not affect a system update

- pschedule / cron changes - if you have jobs setup you will need to check they update correctly (particularly snap2 jobs)
