Is it possible, any way, to get an alphabetic search function for the forum
or access to the actual database, maybe
It seems we have some clever coders who could do what otropogo and several others , including me, have been after for some time - maybe?

Possible? Sure. You'd just have to locate or write a modification to the forum that would provide that feature, and then persuade JohnMurga to apply it to the forum...

I would be more interested in a search that supported regular expressions.

Looks like that's about how the forum itself uses regex to build the database of words, not about how a user searching the forum can use regex in his search query.

That does look like an interesting series of posts though. I'll have to read it sometime when I have more time on my hands. Understanding what exactly goes on under the hood would let me use the system more effectively. Thanks.
