Great news Aragon,
If you get stuck
some of our coders are most helpful :)
Hey Lobster...I like pwget...please don't get too many functions as it's perfect for me as is....Thanks for pwget..I use it all the time as I'm such a slow typist with the command line.

Copy and paste into pwget/wget is a real time saver here.
Eric
I am sue Aragon will bear that in mind :)
The original pwget was written in Tkl and I found it invaluable
- written by another Puppy called Eric too . . .
when we dropped Tkl (Tkl now back in 4.2 I believe) I missed it
so did some rare programming
I am hoping Aragon will move any extras into an advanced option
So it should be as simple as before :)

SURE!

pwget remains like it is, with one button more => advanced.

Ok, now a first alpha.

The featurelist of wget is looooong, so i picked this ones:

- Copy Website
- Download multiple files
- Download files from filelist

with simplest options.

Please test.

just tried

on Puppy 3.01, When I click on a pwget simple button, GUI disappears, and does not turn in simple pwget mode

hi dingo,

2 possible reasons:

- pwget (simple) is not installed. it is a link to lobsters pwget. => main post
- pwget is installed but in another directory. it is a link to /usr/local/bin/pwget

if advanced proofs it's functions and lobster gives his ok, we could bundle the 2 parts later.

Sorry Aragon - only just seen this :)

I would do it the other way around
Start in simple mode and add a button for advanced features
I would maybe change 'Copy Website' to 'Download Website'

In Help - 'address' (not 'adress' - spelling)

I was messing around with Pwget today and changed a few things in it,
I removed 'ok' and replaced with download.
I reused, but included the puppy logo as a banner, The actual pet size is like 3kb on puppy 4 series, Since its replacing the logo with the same logo. But I included the 4 series logo for series 2&3 hence the 8.6kb pet size, still smaller than the original version :)
below is the package and Screenshot

ttuuxxx,
How about combining the above, with gposil's adaptation that includes a login and password feature? http://www.gposil.com/pets/pwsget-0.1.pet This would make it a better alternative to uget that Barry has included in 417.

How about improving on / extending Pwget with some much needed features?

- Switch User Agent: Some sites are very picky and won't let you download any files unless Pwget reports a specific user agent to the site.

- Set the time to auto-resume after connection is down. Resuming in Pwget is a nice feature, but it takes more than 5 minutes (!) for Pwget to resume a download in case your dial-up / ADSL connection gets reset / disconnected. That's too long :(

- A way to STOP (CANCEL) the download - an *essential* feature

- No cookies (Don't use cookies)

Classic obuscation of a command line app. Sad.

Classic obuscation of a command line app.
Classic obfuscation and crippling of a powerful command line app.

Fixed :)
