Thanks to Musher0 for his cautionary reminder.
We tried running SnapMergePuppy ( from 'save-2-flash )
at the same time as
the current "hotbackup" ( v.1.2 ).
Results : both programs "froze" or "Locked-Up".
... may be result from 'sync' and 'tar' conflicting for control.
Solution: Control-'C' or 'Control-Alt-Del' to kill everything.

It is just as Musher0 warned :
Run one 'task' at a time.
