Yeh, "rfkill unblock all" solved it but why it ships with "block" as default in this build?

Yep. I'm aware of the icewm issue, I took out the code for it in delayedrun as you suspected, fixed for next.
Interesting Micko... I haven't encountered any problems with my install of IceWM - in fact, I'm using it at this moment, rebooted from Lucid-Pup just to check to see whether or not I had this mentioned bug since doing the upgrade from the .iso to my frugal savefile. It's working fine here.

I'm wondering though if it may have something to do with the fact that I'm using IceWM v-1.3.7pre2, however, instead of ETP's 1.3.7-i686's version? Hmm... perhaps so, inwhich case this report would be totally useless, eh? :?

Sorry for any confuzzlement I've caused...

Keep up the great work everyone!

Cheers/Amicalement,

Updated the frugal install on this old P4 test box from 5.3.2.6 to 5.3.2.7. No problems with the upgrade.

Opened Tray On Shutdown

#187 Post by duke93535 »

This is on Slacko 5.3.2.7.

On a shutdown, I don’t like having my DVD tray opened automatically when there is a CD in it. I don’t like the idea of manually closing it, but don’t want it setting open on a turned off computer. I remarked out line 1271 to 1285 and stopped this action in /etc/rc.d/rc.shutdown.

I have a frugal installed on my hard drive and normally have a CD in the combo player for convenience, I just leave it in.

I have 4GB of ram memory and it is not supported by the non-pae kernel version of Slacko.

You did not need to do so.
Run the 'pupsaveconfig'. You can find 'Eject CD' checkbox.

Someone has to compile libimobiledevice for slacko.
It may work with lupu though, since there is an AOB version for Ubuntu 10.04.
Alternatively run iTunes over WINE.

getflash-0.8 has serious bug

#196 Post by shinobar »

v0.8 and older has serious bug. Update or uninstall the getflash is requested to all the users and distributors.
# v0.9 - 25 Mar 2012 shinobar: fix was the ownership under /usr messing up
getflash-0.9.pet
http://shino.pos.to/linux/puppy/
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=74491

Detail:
The ownership under /usr is changed to '501.guest' when you installed the flashplayer using the getflash v0.8 and older.
Check the ownership by typing 'ls -l /usr' on a virtual terminal(all 'root root' is normal).
To repair the ownership, issue a command:
(for frugal install)
# chown root.root -R /initrd/pup_rw/usr
For frugal install on usb/ata flash, also need:
# chown root.root -R /initrd/pup_ro1/usr
Reboot after the above command.

pmount

#199 Post by yordanj94 »

Hi.
Slacko is great on my Dell Latitude c610.
The only thing that confuse me is that every time i mount any "sfs" file or any partition
my inserted live DVD starts spinning and stops after about a minute.
This DVD is not mounted after Slacko is loaded, but always reacts by spinning.
This never happens with Lupq-511 or Saluki.
I use laptop on battery most of the time and this reduce its working time.
All the rest is so far great.
Thanks in advance.
