Dpup Exprimo 5.X.3.4.12 with 3.4.2 kernel.
I do have numlockx binary included and the binary works for me. Firstrun ie countrywizard.qs calls that binary and it should work. I think it will need Shinobar`s input about failure.
Test in console: numlockx off and numlockx on
Does it have effect to disable and enable when you have Galculator open.

Hi Pemasu,
if doing in a console:
1) numlockx on:
NumLock Led is off; all NumPad keys are active in Galculator, as also in the editing of this post.
2) numlockx off:
NumLock Led is even off; only 2,4,6,8 NumPad keys do no display the corresponding figures; but are active as cursor move.
Now if pressing the Numlock key , the Numlock led is on; all NumPad keys are active.
This performed on a fresh pristine (pfix=ram) bootup and Personnal settings set to be-latin1 + fr_BE locale + NumLock and UTF-8 checkboxes checked .
Hope this helps
Cheers
Charlie

I made a little DAW out of this, and remastered the CD, posting now from the remaster.
Isn't it fun when things just work? Made a nice recording, and the main linux
instruments and fx plugins, work as expected.
Is there a recommended .sfs or .pet to install a version of wine?
Thanks for sharing these masterpiece operating systems!

I think that green_dome is your man with latest wine pets.

edit: this worked out well, I relative-linked a bunch of windows plugins, and
installed a reaper, then recorded to the evil windows partition. Had to resize,
but for such tasks to have so few issues, is quite amazing. Some tight coding
going on in the linux/puppy universe.
Fresh frugal install on my Windows 7/PCLOS/Lucid/Slacko box.Everything working on initial boot and looking good.Except GetFlash....

Hi,
Here video running on
I noticed that the default bootup video driver used = «is» ... didn't know it ...looks working nice OOTB whit the 82845 Brookdale Chipset.
Digging deep inside /usr/sbin/xorgwizard, I did not finf any exception script for that Brookdale as encountered and needed in Slacko 5.3 and 5.3.1, needed to get Slacko running using that video chip and avoiding black screen or X hang up (reported by a few forum members along Slacko development threads).
Maybe this «is» driver is specific to kernels 3.1.10 and 3.2.11 ?
«is» driver not encountered on Exprimo 5X14 (k2.6.39.4) where I got some black screens at bootup+Xrestart before getting it running on Intel driver?
Nice !
Thanks again
Charlie

Hi,
Imho, Exprimo misses opening and display postscript .ps files
Adding forum member Panzerkopf's gv.gz script into /usr/bin solves this Download here
http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic. ... h&id=29609
To read A4 postscript pages, one needs to edit the code as shown below
by adding «-sPAPERSIZE#a4» (whitout the quotes !)
Now it is usefull to edit the produced .ps files as follow to get them full size displayed (i.e. not truncated of about 2cm at the top):
- open the .ps file as text using Geany or any other text editor;
- add a row beginning by «a4» at the top of the code, after the rows beginning by «%%» (all this without the quotes, of course!); and save.

Thanks charlie6. I created rox right click for .ps files to open them with your shown gv ie ps2pdf papersize pipe and .....the right click should pipe the .ps file through gv and open it in evince.

A4paper
Thanks to charlie's information, I propose a profile file /etc/rc.d/a4paper.
(Attached a pet for your convenience. You need to reboot PC, or go down to the console and type 'exit' then 'xwin'.)
Then the ps2pdf will create proper size of pdf without options. Of course depends on your locale.
Code: Select all
#31dec10 shinobar: ghostscript paper size
case "${LANG:2:3}" in
_US|_CA|_MX) :;;
*) export GS_OPTIONS="-sPAPERSIZE=a4";;
esac
Then the ps2pdf will create proper size of pdf without options. Of course depends on your locale.

Hi Pemasu,
-->Thanks for the a4 postc-script viewer pet ! Works like a charm !
Just to mention that there is a mistake in my previous post - please pardon me
Checking the ps2pdf man page, the ps2pdf options is -sPAPERSIZE=a4 instead of -sPAPERSIZE#4.
The pet comes with #4.
-->Thanks also to shinobar for his a4-paper pet !
