Found it, wow, there is a lot in there. Just not amarok or k3b which is all I wanted. I did not realize the menu's scrolled.

Cool, btw in rox filer options you can setup any backround color and then you just wipe out wallpaper, e.g.

Right click on any icon->Backdrop->Clear
Right click on any icon->Rox Filer->Options->Under Pinboard Tab Set Background color

;)

Hmm, no but this dates back from 2005, Iguleder has found trinity fork of kde 3.5 that's more recent.

Are kdpup supposed to work on small Netbooks? my Acer D250 have 1GB Dram so that seems enough but maybe it has intel 945 or similar chips that are too unsupported by the kdpup kernel or driver library?

I will test soon

1 GB should be enough (plus if you have any swap?) but yeah graphics driver could be problem if it freezes screen or something, those are onboard graphics right? What's the problem exactly?
If you tried dpup 484 did it work for you as it's based on it?

kdpup failed to find ethernet card on my Acer D250 so I gave up on doing frugal install.

I have a dpup that work yes. I look at it and see if I made a comment in the menu.lst

dpup 484 not but I have a title dpup-009 using SeaMonkey 2.08 1024x600

how is that one different?

dpup 484 is older built by gposil

dpup 009 has newer kernel and it's completely different build by iguleder so it's understandable that it has better support for your hardware.

@awesomeBot4000 Thanks, glad you like it but not sure if I'm going further with this, like I explained previously now there are newer dpup isos and iguleder has trinity sfs's that work with it. He had plans to make new kdpup. If I feel like it when I have time I might make new puplet with his isos and sfs's but haven't planed nothing specific yet.

Thanks dejan555 for your KDE-lite puplet! :D

I've just overwritten my dpup477+ minimal kde pet that you had made nearly 2 years ago, with your latest offering. I'm revisiting something that gposil and MU had kindly contributed on getting Kommander and CowLog working together for early Puppy4.
I've got the latest CowLog deb and Kommander1.3 deb installed very smoothly (the latter plus dependencies via your updated PPM). However I can't seem to download and install mplayer_1.0~rc2 from the repositories - even though the dependencies download fine and URL checks to the repository mirrors are all OK. Could you give me an idea please why mplayer might be rejected from installing in KDPUP484-lite? (returns "Error - failed to download mplayer_1.0~rc2-17+lenny3_i386.deb")

Thanks Again

Thanks Puppyt, glad you like it.
mplayer install error I think is PPM bug, but mplayer is already included in kdpup, I think it's the same version as you want.

Thanks for such a quick response, dejan555.
I must have missed mplayer listed in the multimedia menu - but I was able to download from https://www.securehost.com/mirror/debia ... m/mplayer/. CowLog initially only gave the audio to AVI files, but it was resolved by removing a "-vo sdl" in the CowLog.kmdr file. Problem solved! (Of course - it only seems to be a problem when I'm involved  ) My only issue now is that I don't seem to have all the codecs for mplayer to enable viewing of MOV files etc - might you recommend a codec solution for that in KDPup Lite, please?

But please don't rush. Puppy seems to organically resolve itself more and more, lately...

Cheers!

EDIT: Well of course it was working! It just needed a bit of initial persistence with the MOV file rather keep deflecting to the AVI version. All Good!

Wbar-less KDPUP-lite

Cheers again dejan555 -
at the risk of putting my feet in my mouth again, I wonder whether the wBar issue raised around page 6 of the thread was resolved for KDPUP and KDPUP-lite? I'm using lite and I cannot replicate the workaround steps suggested back then (wbon and dpupstartup files absent). I note that the config file in /root/.wbarstuff gets summarily wiped whenever wBar setup is executed - although apart from the accursed "Creampup" TTF reappearing as default text selection, all settings are otherwise retained. They just aren't implemented.
Could you please revist the issue? I'd really love to see Wbar working in Kdpup. I'm using the panel as a replacement at the moment, but still...

I also note that "Find" (ctrl-F) in Konqueror is not installed. Just a cutback of the overheads for the lite version, I wonder?

Many Thanks

Hey Puppyt glad you figured out multimedia issues.
Regarding wbar, well - wbon fix should work as far as I know I will boot kdpup lite later and test, I changed so much thing on my kdpup install that I don't remember what was it like in the first place

well after doing some research,I found this tool which works for the volume keys-keyTouch

http://keytouch.sourceforge.net/dl-keytouch.php

the tool does not create any menu entries but it does create an entry in /usr/share/applications

I seem to be having a problem with the startup folder. I put a link to keytouch and it does not run. Neither does a link to my calendar program rainlendar. But if I navigate to the startup folder and click the links they start right up
