Hi all

Just a quick message to say thanks to lobster and aitch for the great links to help with the checking of web security.
also thanks to playdayz for his great tor pet for lucid which is working great with spup100 (especially the baby version without the evil flashplayer, I am also running from a multisession dvd in ram so no saved records  )

Keep up the good work and dont remove the bacofoil headware (even though it wont save you from a thermal imaging camera)

No
Just offering info on how to be secure/paranoid. :)
Not really cyber-going anywhere I need to keep secure or secret.

I am transparently a fake paranoid
Maybe if I go to these sites I can scare myself silly?

m m m . . . not working

OK how about Google (and their spook comrades - See AI)
and BlockHead-Martin (defense contractor) having access to the first ten million dollar prototype Quantum computing device?

Even though these devices have remarkable code cracking capabilities
they will also have potential for benign use.
Trying to feel uneasy . . . nope

Hi all

My internet router just disconected itself and reset itself some 20 minutes later (had to enter my username and password). Has someone decided to monitor my internet traffic? and if so is there any way to tell?

cheers

Yes look inside if it has some log but maybe that one get deleted then?

I would google if it is possible to do such things from outside.
I have DLink and them most likely can be reset from Admin so it would mean somebody has taken over it.

Should you maybe do a hard reset of it and start all over with another password? and then be observant if something happen again?

I have a vague memory that one can look at log or even set up log to record if others try to log in. But I know too little Just now I have no power supply so I can not test anything

They can do that already. Either you have nothing to worry about or a lot to worry about.

This is also the paranoia for beginners topic.

I can think along the lines of you have a lot to worry about.

I can also think along the lines you have nothing to worry about.

What is your preference?

Hi all

Thanks for the great useful replies
Just had a look and cant find any logs on my router at all, just going to look at the manufacturers website to see if that tells me more.

according to my isp there was no interuption on my broadband/phone line. (but they would say that LOL)

@bruce
I always run under the premise that I am being monitored, and use the internet accordingly

I thought with this being mainly to do with my paranoia this was the ideal thread to post in, as there is not a paranoid for intermediates/experts thread (yet) sorry if I got it wrong

cheers

So do I.

I'm reading today - Sarah Palin's emails are being dumped on the public? Say what?

We haven't even recovered from Congressman Anthony Weiner's stupid online behavior. Suppose he has hidden suicidal tendencies?

Do these people not know the obvious?

Guys as we know Google is taking over the world

Click on the add to Firefox option to at least ensure your browsing is

My security is collapsing
I started with wired Ethernet connection through a firewalled router.
Now Wii, net-books and Android phones are going through that router . . .

New roll of tin foil on order.

Net anonymity has to stop FaceBook says.

So how would that help those poor ladies that are stalked by their former Hubbies or some other person?
Facebook's Randi Zuckerberg: Anonymity Online 'Has To Go Away'
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/07/2 ... 10892.html
"I think anonymity on the Internet has to go away," ...said ... Randi Zuckerberg, Facebook's marketing director, .
Erin Andrews, an ESPN anchor who had a naked video of her posted online by a stalker, joined Zuckerberg as a panelist and addressed her struggles to have the illegally-obtained video removed from the web. She became emotional at points during the conversation and described her frustration working Google and other companies that declined to pull the video from the websites hosting it.

Andrews praised Google for its “remarkable
