I just installed Foxit via quickpet. It downloaded and installed as expected but when I tried to view a PDF with it, it closed down. :(

Rebooted a couple of time and tried a couple of different PDF just in case one was crook, nope same problem.

Anyone else having the same problem?

Very likely you are running your xorgwizard with a color depths of 16 bit. Foxit crashes with anything less than 24.

I didn't have a problem with foxit but I always run 24bit colour.

The Piratebay torrent is seeding from my Windows box and the Linuxtracker one from my Puppy 5 laptop.

Edit: The Piratebay torrent is active and there are 16 peers currently connected. I'm only able to upload at 60k so it will be a while for multiple seed are active in the swarm.

Very slick

playdayz and 01micko (and others),

This is fabulous, tried the browser selector and Ubuntu repositories. Both seem to have worked without a hitch.

Pretty to look at, everything seems to work, haven't had to drop to a command line for anything. Are you sure this is based on Puppy? (Just kidding Barry, all your hard work is finally paying off. I can't see anything competing with Puppy now.)

Now we've got a browser choice screen even the EU can't complain.

Posted from Lupu-500 as is traditional. (Good name too, sounds like a wolf of some sort.)

Even Skype with video is working. It's been a while since video worked.

I just can't break it.

My HP Photosmart 3180 is even working. I did have to install hpijs-3.10.2.pet though. The scanner (Xsane) also works.

Really Really good job.

Guys, which MD5 is correct? The one from here http://puppylinux.org/wikka/LucidPuppy (f81e3d4743de4a98af33424e6f8f3c53) or the one given further up in this thread (e85a6b08e52c551871c84daefa9f8695)?

Anyway, looking forward to the Puppy 5 experience ... it will be good I'm sure!

Grab it from the first post or the official ibiblio site or one of the mirrors provided by tubeguy or myself

Hey, a new version :D
I already posted link to local forum ;)

BTW, offtopic I see that dpup and kde are mentioning in the topic I recently made puplet so who wants to try: LINK
Even though gposil is away I'm using dpup since the last beta and will probably remain my puppy version for some time.

EDIT: Joining torrent seeding 8)

Correct me if I'm wrong but, md5 of the downloaded torrent indicates that it is the first (RC1) of the lupu-500.iso's that's being seeded. I guess it's only the release notes left out, though .....

Used the piratebay torrent (national heroes here in my country) and am seeding at approx. 120kB.

# cat md5sums.txt
e85a6b08e52c551871c84daefa9f8695 lupu-500.iso# md5sum lupu-500.iso
bdffda64aaf076c948c22c2c1742a10b lupu-500.iso

Well, I get these results so md5sums are definitely different
First one is from link mick0 gave and second one from downloaded lupu, so is this official release or RC then?

I am confirming md5sums right now. AFAIK the ones in the firs message in this thread are correct. I think maybe what I did with the multiple rc's caused confusion.

So we have RC seeding then?
'Cause iso doesn't match md5 from first thread as you can see

Bytesize given at thepiratebay matches size of RC1.

Is RC3 going to be the release version?

I can confirm what TubeGuy just posted.
Lucid Puppy 500 -> http://www.diddywahdiddy.net/Puppy500/lupu-500.iso
md5sum -> e85a6b08e52c551871c84daefa9f8695
from the 1st page of this thread is correct in that the md5sum matches the download.

OK, I haven't followed development thread or took part but if I understand well Barry announced latest iso as official and md5sum of downloaded iso doesn't match with it am I correct so far? I already gave links to local forums for torrent download, if they're wrong I'm gonna leave only links to official mirrors.

Are we talking torrent download here?
Cause there's scenario that my download went wrong cause mine doesn't match or scenario that we have wrong iso seeding?
