What game are you trying to run?
That game might be listed in the Wine Application Database.
http://appdb.winehq.org/

If the app/game is not complaining about a missing dependency, then it is possible those other .pets are not needed for that app.

It's this game http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.p ... on&iId=727

and gecko pack is crashing when I try to use iexplore

After looking over this it may be better for me to just install DOS 7.1 and run the game from there after installing from WINE

If I go through the trouble of making it work in WINE I get a 640x400 res.
It gets 640x480 in DOS and its much easier to set it up to run from there.

Open Office

#103 Post by Kogije »

I'm trying to get Open Office 3.4.1 working and it wants:

libaprutil-1
libapr-1
libserf-1
libicule.so.40
libicui18n.so.40
libicudata.so.40
libicuuc.so.40

UPDATE, I found:

libaprutil-1 in apr-util_DEV-1.2.12-w5.pet
libapr-1 in apr_DEV-1.4.5-w5c.pet

Okay, from what I'm reading the libicu's take up alot of space (which isn't really a problem) and I shouldn't use them...
Is there a way to run this without them somehow?

I unpacked Apache_OpenOffice_incubating_3.4.1_Linux_x86_install-deb_en-US.tar.gz
Then I'm using unrpm to:

for f in *.deb; do undeb $f; done

Okay, I figured out how to get this working without the libs
After I got it installed and working,
I had to install the icons manually and
configure the .desktop links for the menu and then
fixmenus
jwm -restart
and it's all good (the majority of the OO 3.4.1 is installed outside the pupsave.)
