I've uploaded a .pet here(4736kbytes): PySolFC-2.0-i486.pet.

As it says, this is a fork of pysol, which is available here:

http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?search_id=756296538&t=23263

Both require the installation of Python2.5.pet from either:

Here or here.

To play, Menu->Fun->PySolFC.

@wosifat,

I couldn't even manage to extract the pysolfc music from the .dmg file...did you manage this? At least the background music works with Pysol.

This is one of my favorite games,...and I always have it on most all my computers! Only I've been running the windows version in Wine. That's been running really well,...but I'd like to try this "Puppy-version".

Hi,

Sorry for bumping this thread but can some helpful person post the PySolFC pet on a file host other than rapidshare, please?

I just can't get the download to work (I am behind a mandantory proxy here in the UAE).

Thank you in advance,
cklammer

cklammer,

I'm on the job...will upload to different location 2day, or 2morrow...just need to ascertain why it's not working with pup4 series.

Thanks, man - don't break a leg.

Just a suggestion: mediafire.com is working for me here as an alternative upload location.

No, I needed to have another squizz at it anyway, as I noticed the other day it wasn't working with pup412. Anyway, I've uploaded it to Eric's site, (uname=puppy, pword=linux), see the first post.

cklammer advised, via a pm, that pysolc still wasn't working. I suspect it's a python problem, but unfortunately have a meagre understanding of python, and especially how to get it working. But I can verify that PySolFC will work, using p412, with either of:

Python-2.5.pup

OR

python_for_CCSM.pet

These links should start with ftp, not http, for petget to start the download. You will get a scrambled mess on your screen if you click those ibiblio links.

ftp://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/puppylinux/pet_packages-4/

Will get you to the page of .pets, or you can probably just replace the http with ftp in the url box after you get the scrambled browser page.

PostPosted: Sat 09 Jan 2010, 05:00    Post subject: python for CCSM doesn't install

The python for CCSM.pet file doesn't install sucessfully using 4.3.1. I don't know what to do with a .pup for the required files.

Maybe some folks don't know that the passwords for the main file are puppy and linux.

The PySol.pet installs fine, but I'm having trouble with the required extra files.

Please walk me through the required extra files install using 4.3.1. I think all I need help with is the .pup. And please change the http to ftp in the links. Thank you.

PostPosted: Sat 09 Jan 2010, 09:39    Post subject: Re: PySolFC: Python-based card/mahjongg games

I am using Puppy 420 on an 'old' (BIOS is 2004) Thinkpad R32 P3 with 256MB RAM (I intend to upgrade the memory ONE of these days! Wink) and PySolFC Works just fine for me.

I followed the instructions stated in muggins first message, downloaded and installed the game, then Pyton-2.5.pup (instead of the python_for_CCSM), then tcl pet and then the tk pet.

I then added the link to my desktop and have played it since! I don't know about 'background music', but I hear the sounds of the cards flipping. I personally find background music annoying andeither turn it off or turn it down so low that I don't hear it anyway.

Thanks again muggins for the game! I felt 'lost' without a really good solitaire game onboard my Puppy!
