Well ,the newer puppy versions 3.00 and above have more options for the xvesa -video wizard so I decided to hack away at the 2.16 xvesa video-wizard and add more options, a total of 16 more options
Note this was not made to replace the original script it was made to make it easier for those who need more options in Xvesa and like a GUI for it
These options were added :
848x480x16 "" and x24
1152x864x16 "" and x24
1280x768x16 "" and x24
1280x960x16 "" and x24
1280x1024x16 "" and x24
1360x768x16 "" and x24
1400x1050x16 "" and x24
1600x1200x16 "" and x24
Preserve the vintage puppy versions

Excellent Work big bass, Thats a hell of a good Idea. Hats off to you.
A lot of older pc's can use modern Monitors because most are plug'in play. I do have an old 486 in the garage under some boxes, I might blow some dust off it and see if it will take a 19" LCD thats like 3 months old, lol I bet it can.
well have fun and thanks for that

Awesome work - very timely
I've been away from Puppy for a bit but got a new monitor.
This was EXACTLY what I was looking for.
I run puppy in a virtualbox session. In virtualbox, puppy runs only with the Xvesa driver.
There are still some bugs for me in the extra modes when i configure it; but it might be a function of me running this in virtualbox. I will test it in host / native boot mode and let you know how it goes
