Code: Select all

/usr/share/applications/opera.desktop
then drag onto your desktop. :D

To make the icon bigger, go to:

Code: Select all

/usr/share/applications/opera.desktop
then replace the line:

Code: Select all

Icon=/usr/share/icons/hicolor/16x16/apps/opera.png
with

Code: Select all

Icon=/usr/share/icons/hicolor/48x48/apps/opera.png

I have an earlier version of Opera installed (also supplied by Wolf Pup).

How should I go about installing this new version in order to keep my bookmarks etc? If I uninstall my original PET will I lose them?

Thanks,

cartz.

Nope, you will not lose your bookmarks and settings when you remove the old opera. :)

Opera 9.50 works great, it's fast and stable with a good range of features. Recommended.

I installed Opera from a .tar.gz file. It works beautifully. I have not found a website that I've had problems with. It works perfectly, even on You-Tube.

Yeah, I wonder if Opera 9.50 would make an acceptable full replacement for Seamonkey in Dingo (possibly as an alternative version), since it has its own e-mail and chat client?

Actually Barry did have a version of puppy I think in the early 2 series with Opera, I think it was the web development of Seamonkey which pushed him over to the dark side. Really the new look of Opera is great, plus they have tons of widgets, too bad they don't run when opera isn't, Like the clock, forecast, etc on the desktop. plus Its funny they make tabs for each one when really it should be a part of the taskbar.
Oh well, its a start.

Plus, Seamonkey's old fashioned now. If there's someone here with the necessary skills to build this thing and turn it into an ISO, I think it should be done.

Nobody in this thread has said that Opera will work in Dingo. Will it?
