There has been a flaw discovered in most version 4 editions of yubikey as of 10/2017. I just stumbled upon it.

Note also that there is no verite possible, since v.4 yubikeys are closed-source.
THAT is a yellow-flag and caveat emptor.

There are other offerings by yubikey without the yellow flag warning.
