This timer/alarm is Great! Thanks. It's actually just what I need. There's ptiming, pschedule, osmo and orage but I just get bogged down trying to navigate them. This one's for me! And the note! I often need reminded why I set the damn alarm in the first place. Seriously.

Thanks Don570. I'll look at that. Pretty much re-abandoned icewm after JL64-704, thinking it may be a bit redundant.
Slackware updates. Fixed Parole and pmusic (see note)
5_JL64-706.sfs (contains former media-lt)
Backgrounds-JL64.sfs (minor changes - not essential)
BaseFile-delta.tar.gz (contains JL64-706.sfs___JL64-706.sfs.delta) 56M
DOC_JL64-706.sfs
Devx-JL64_706.sfs
NLS_base-JL64_706.sfs
Parole-0.9.2-x86_64-JL64.sfs (renamed gstreamer addon with gst-libav from Arch Linux)
Xfce-4.12.1-1-x86_64.sfs (minor changes - not essential)
ffmpeg-3.4.1-x86_64-2.sfs (full package from slackware)
ffmpeg-3.4.1-x86_64-2_706.sfs (trimmed ffmpeg with samba libraries)
gtk-doc-reference_706.sfs
man_tools-14.2-5.sfs
mediacenter-12.sfs (minor changes - not essential)
minillvm-706.sfs (just the libraries)
python3-3.6.4-x86_64-1.sfs
samba-4.7.4-x86_64-2.sfs
xscreensaver-5.38-x86_64-JL64.sfs
note: changing Nothing from JL64-704, pmusic now needs samba, no matter which ffmpeg is used. Tried ffmpeg from arch linux which does not require samba, and pmusic will play sound files, but not web streams (kind of defeats its purpose). Likewise, parole now played anything I've thrown at it, but it hitches its giddy-up with web streams. Also has some problems getting around some commercial dvd encryption (as does xine). Admittedly, my dvd-player is warped. The all-round media player of choice is vlc for video and audacious for audio, both which as of yet have presented no problem.

kernel 4.14.12 (k4.14.12.txz) uploaded to gdrive repo.
Seems to work pretty good and I might even say I'm impressed, but JL64 is still no match for my favoritest puppy since precise-5.71, which is ShibaInu. Whatever happened to Josejp?
Anyway, Install and run mkMariner-iso (in devx) to create a new iso with the new kernel and whatever sfs files you have loaded, or manually extract the txz (right click), open the archive and extract the contents to where you need them.
df
edit: not sure if the extra 20M kernel-modules size (a 30% increase!) is really worth the kernel upgrade. Personally, I'm sticking with k4.14.2.
edit2: wrong. The extra size is accounted by the huge firmware pkg in the modules. I've re-uploaded k4.14.12.txz with Radky's smaller firmware (which I've been using) from smokey01.com. initrd.xz is now 45M.

Went to install this for a friend today and the installer failed. Just passing along an FYI.
Just-Lighthouse Universal Installer - go through the process as one should do. Selecting a USB Hard disk, click through to install to sdc1, etc. After selecting the disk the installer crashes.
Code: | <root> ~
bash-4.4# puppyinstaller
/usr/sbin/puppyinstaller: line 986: 17105 Terminated yaf-splash -close never -icon gtk-harddisk -bg goldenrod1 -text " Please wait, scanning /dev/$DRVSEL... "

This may help, but might also break something else. Personally, I don't recommend any other than manual frugal install. I tried lighthouse installer recently and didn't fail till "fixusb'. The alternate installer (using the install icon in Desktop) is from woofCE a few years ago. I should probably get rid of it, particularly as JL64 no longer supports f2fs.

Hi Don. Yes. Audacious. Not sure how this is going to end up, since it isn't even on the base file, but neither is parole. The logic, I guess is that the ISO is "Mariner" and every sfs on the iso autoloads at first start. So it IS available. I could have used parole for both mediaplayer and audio, but I prefer audacious. May be subjective, but I think it sounds better. It streams audio better, and that's not subjective.

Dry,
This is not related to 706, but instead 605. I'm continually impressed with what you were able to manage with that release. It has worked on every machine I've attempted to run it on.
I've run it on Intel NUCs all the way to my eight socket beast, which I've attached output from. I would never have expected it to work out of the box on such complex enterprise gear.
I really look forward to what 706 shapes up to be.
