I need an email POP client for Fatdog

I would have to install libgtk3. On this fatdog machine when I want libgtk stuff, I just use libgtk2. If there is an easy way to install libgtk3 it should ans must coinicide with gtk2 because I have a lot of apps that only use libgtk2.

How are you running seamonkey mail?
Is it seamonkey-spot -mail
or
seamonkey -mail?

When running the spot version you will get a lot of permission denied messages as it's trying to protect you.
Your profies are also in different locations when running with spot or without.
I HATE spot. It's always the first thing I change in /etc/defaultprograms.

There might be a huge sort of home vs. root issue or some link or whateve.r

That should run the seamonkey browser as user root. To run the email client you need to run it like this:
./seamonkey -mail

It's usually easy - I might try it - I've installed 3 on other machines. I'll try I guess.

It doesn't have the package atk-bridge-2.0. I knew there was some reason I had a bunch of gtk+3.10.x tars but I'm still running only with gtk+2.0. There's stuff I don't have on this particular Fatdog machine. that I have on other Linux machines.

Perhaps I should try ./configure on building gtk+3 again and see what the next missing thing is.

Looks like I will need to set some environment variables to avoid pkg-config calls - perhaps they gave me a utility for this?

There are flash sticks all over the place but no new ones.

Can I just take my Fatdog 7.02 cd out and pop the 7.21 in and it will boot?

C'mon now Pappy guy, tell me you made some progress and I'll hand you the *working* configuration options.

Having configured both Seamonkey and Thunderbird, the latter I found easier and less buggy for use with Gmail.
