Is your browser safe against tracking?

#1 Post by labbe5 »

What i got from testing Firefox 52.7.2 ESR :

How well are you protected against non-consensual Web tracking? After analyzing your browser and add-ons, the answer is ...

Yes! You have strong protection against Web tracking, though your software isn’t checking for Do Not Track policies.

To test your browser :
https://panopticlick.eff.org/

You get tested by a real tracking company.

As addons, i have
HTTPS Everywhere, usually with Block all unencrypted requests (not with Murga-Linux forum).
ublock (all entries checked, except regions and experimental)
NoScript
Policy Control (some websites break with default settings enabled)
Privacy settings (enhance privacy)

Configure your devices to use Tenta DNS
Thanks for choosing Tenta DNS! Built from the ground up with privacy in mind, Tenta DNS supports DNS-over-TLS, DNSSEC, and ICANN and OpenNIC roots. As a result, this modern DNS alternative can resolve unique domains such as .bit, and can be run as either a recursor or authoritative server.

ICANN
99.192.182.200
66.244.159.200
OpenNIC
99.192.182.100
66.244.159.100

DNS-Over-TLS replaces DNSCrypt, which is deprecated. You can use these DNS servers from ICANN or OpenNIC instead of DNS servers provided by your ISP. Some VPN providers use Google public DNS (VPNBook) instead of their own DNS servers. To be sure, do a test with dnsleak test. If you see Google mentioned, your VPN uses Google public DNS, your privacy is at risk.

HI labbe5.

Thanks for the tip.

But I'm tempted to tease you with a silly one: (I hope you have a sense of humor!)
with all those add-ons, can your browser still display anything? ;)

BFN.
