How to connect Slacko to Samsung Galaxy Ace mobile phone?

#1 Post by LeithR »

I'm trying to load a ringtone onto my Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830 mobile phone from my HP G56 laptop with Slacko 5.9.3 onboard. I have looked at a number of threads on here, I have downloaded CamPhoneTab v1.6 which does not see my phone.

I've also downloaded gMTP but can't see how to get it opened.

Any help to get my mobile phone connected would be appreciated. Thanks

gmtp should install itself in the menu under multimedia.

type "gmtp" in a terminal if you can't find it . If you do not have the programs installed that it needs they will show as errors in the terminal .If you do have errors then try to find a binary for your distro or do the compile thing with the source and all dependencies.

If they don't work I would guess you don't have it installed right
Dump the cam tab thing its useless and a security suspect.

Hello, LeithR.

I also use Slacko Puppy. I plug in my BlackBerry to it, and it detect my phone. I never tried plug Android device to it, maybe I will try next Saturday. My sister has Galaxy Ace phone, probably I can use for experiment.

Maybe, if you want to try another method, try to find app that enables you to share files via wifi. I have seen some apps on Application section that has this feature.
