Cleaning up one's Privacy Profile

#1 Post by slowride »

Back around 2014, having fought my way into (oh christ!) the US vocational rehabilitation system, after almost 20 years drawing a SS disability check...

They Send me to the (mistakes are made when desperate or bored)

STATE EMPLOYMENT AGENCY. No, I did not want to do this, but had to play nice, with about $7000 worth of Snap-On, (20 years? under $750 a month? What few tools I could scavenge outa garage sales were ... sad.) I'd bled the enemy for ---- I had to play nice like I got no clue.

So out goes THEIR resume.

This AM, I get a (Thank God) call from an overseas number. Very nice man. A few carefully screened interweb people have my personal, formerly anonymous number. LITERALLY anonymous cell number.

He first adresses me casually, by my name - which I don't give till I've emailed people enough to "size them up" THEN by my "Government" first name... WTF? And says he's a recruiter. I said you're dialing from outside the US and I was 4F when I tried to enlist 40 years ago.

Which force are you recruiting for please? (I was waiting to hear Al Queda, or worse, "them" posing as... ? IRA? )

He then says, "Are you looking for work?" I said "work finds me if it's able to. Would you kindly MAKE ME UNDERSTAND what this is about?" He again asks am I seeking employment. I again explain "it seeks me, and I only take what suits me"

"What is that ma'am?"

"Aircraft Mechanic, Utility Class, Disaster response and Aerial Application ONLY. If it's a commercial Airline, I could be of no service, due to the work environment"

Turns out, the goddamn state employment place slung my WHOLE ENCHILADA god knows where.

The man said "ziprecruiter" (what use would I have for ever droppin a dingle-berry cookie THERE?) so... Additionally, turns out he was looking for an IT Specialist? Excused me? The damn "Thems" know I got disabled as a result of long sedentary hours in close confines... I don't even know WHAT resume went out, but I told them leave anything office or computer utterly off -- AND REVIEWED... about 3 times before they finally agreed to take ALL OF THAT OFF.

Or so I thought. I only do this now, cause I can't stand TV and the library too far $$$$ gas money.

My shit's in the wind... BAD.

HOW does one address this kind of thing? I'm aware there's forms and stuff and you have to wait for almighty CaptCha Crunch to clear it all but. I'm screwed.

Permanently?

You can't.
In the UK, census data, which contains quite a lot of "private" information, is sold on by councils.
In my case, my ex directory phone number (and it was emphasised) was passed on to anyone who cared to ask for the census data. It is an offence not to provide your phone number. They say they anonymise the data before selling it, but still sell it by post code, which ties it to a pretty small area - usually less than 10 properties.

Sounds like you may have previously worked for (or impacted by) a governmental organisation, or worse maybe a rogue quasi-governmental agency like the cia or similar.

Maybe in the course of that work you got exposed to some of the weird chemicals they were trialling - in which case "they" will be closely monitoring you forever. If so there is no way you can ever pull your cv out of the cosmos. Your history and availablity will forever be available to those who feel they (or their mates) may be able to make use of you for "marginal" projects.

By the way - where is east TN?

Unless you really depend upon your CV which you cannot remove, you could try to add to it. Make it so unlikely, that reading it would convince the reader that you must have been hacked!

I've decided leave it alone, I'll become a chemtrail myself if I go down that bunny hole;

Besides, zero presence I suspect might be more of a radar blip

I have a static IP # so, better to NOT do that.
