The guide is for Qbittorent but it should be useful for Transmission as well, which is the torrent client of choice of Puppy and Dog.
Qbittorrent (Linux / MacOs / Windows )
Click on Tools
Click on Options
Click on BitTorrent
Enable (Check) Enable anonymous mode
Disable (Uncheck) Enable DHT
Disable (Uncheck) Enable PeX
Disable (Uncheck) Enable Local peer discovery
Click on Connection
Find Proxy Server and change the type to SOCKS5
Change the Host: to 10.8.0.1
Change the port: to 1080
Enable (check) Use proxy for peer connections
Enable(check) Disable connections not supported by proxies
Disable (Uncheck) Use PNP / NAT - PMP
Click on Speed
Disable (Uncheck) Enable μTP protocol
