I am trying to find pcsx2 but there isn't one available in PPM. Where and how can I install one?

You can download the Ubuntu package on this page:

https://launchpad.net/~gregory-hainaut/+archive/ubuntu/pcsx2.official.ppa/+packages

Direct link to trusty package here:

https://launchpad.net/~gregory-hainaut/+archive/ubuntu/pcsx2.official.ppa/+files/pcsx2_1.4.0-1_i386.deb

Download it, click on it and it will install.

There is probably a lot of other stuff to do to get it to work.

Ignoring the part about intalling the PPA and using apt-get, you would probably want to start here under the Ubuntu PPA section.

https://github.com/PCSX2/pcsx2/wiki/Installing-on-Linux

This page has a list of dependencies, which will come in handy.

https://pcsx2.net/download/releases/linux.html

Good luck

Can't I like add ppa someway and install it through ppm? It's much easier as it pulls in the other stuff needed.

I am lost this way tbh. Crying or Very sad

Don't no body has magic(.pet) that installs everything in one click? Smile

Download the .deb file, click on it and let it install.

Then try to run it and see what happens.

Report back and we'll help you find the dependencies.

It is supposedly possible to add the ppa, but to be honest I've never had much luck with that. YMMV.

Testing on Tahrpup 6.0.5 in Virtualbox...

The program got installed into /usr/games. Note that the name is uppercase: PCSX2; it also has a start-up script, PCSX2-linux.sh. (You can check a program's entry in /root/.packages to see where its files are installed.)

The menu entry went into "Utility" instead of "Fun"; type fixmenus in a terminal to update the menu if it isn't already there.

To find out if a program is missing some dependencies, you can either use Menu > Setup > Check dependencies installed pkg, or type ldd /path/to/your/program in a terminal. Or just run the program from a terminal and see if it complains about missing libraries. Then use the package manager to search and download them. (I had to update the package database to find them all.)

After installing the packages in the screenshot below (some were pulled in as dependencies of others), the program was able to start. I couldn't actually test it because I didn't have the PS2 BIOS it was asking for. Or any games, for that matter...

Can you share your working copy w/dependencies? (without the bios, of course)
