javaMPlayer

#1 Post by musher0 »

Hello all.

There'a new kid on the mplayer block... http://jaime.gemelo.free.fr/javamplayer/index.html

I made a pet of it. (That said, it did not contain the adapted mplayer executable, so I removed it. You're better off going to the web site above and compiling it yourself, as I was unsuccessful in compiling the specialized mplayer it requires. I apologize to any who may have already downloaded it. javaMPlayer works with the mplayer included in wary, however, according to the maintainer, that mplayer does not bring out the full features of javamplayer.
I'll put a link back in here once that mystery is solved. )

[part removed by musher0] it looks like this (see attached)

Most interesting are the author's scripts which create to download and play media streams directly --- from youtube, dailymotion, etc.

With javaMPlayer you can also play the usuals, i.e. radio and tv streams, CDs, DVDs, etc. etc.

You'll need -- obviously -- a java installed, [part removed by musher0] In my tryout, javaMPlayer appeared to "unhook" my favorite radio stations much less frequently than the regular mplayer -- meaning, somehow this incarnation of mplayer seems more stable.

Enjoy!

Oooh. Poor pelo.

There, there, pelo, don't cry.

You searched for an mplayer front-end application seven
years after the initial post, and you found nothing.

This is very sad. Let's weep altogether now, for poor,
poor, pelo who's late searching for stuff.

Snif.

Sometimes grave digging does not find a grave. Sometimes there is a forgotten gem or two.

Java Tunes was updated 2013. Libraries for books, Ally's archives* for Puppies, Java apps are just available, not dead. Java for mobiles, for Windows.. java for Linux ? CNET downloads no longer show Linux, which is digging its grave. (Linux for Personal Computers)

*Ally is not an undertaker, he is a shop keeper..
