32-bit Shotcut video editor under Wine

#1 Post by mikeslr »

Hi All,

Thought it worth a heads-up. If you run Wine, or may decide to do so in the future, Shotcut is another quality Video Editor falling between Avidemux's simplicity and Cinelerra's complexity. See my post here: http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic. ... 405#873405.

As noted in that post, the Shotcut-folks appear to no longer be building 32-bit Windows versions. My experience is that these can function under Wine.

So, if you have some storage space, it may be worthwhile to get some builds while they last. There is no longer a link to them from Shotcut's website.

Linux Zip file Users: No install required, simply extract the archive and run it. You can drag the Shotcut folder to copy and move it wherever you want. If double-clicking the icon in your file manager does not launch Shotcut, open Shotcut.app, and try double-clicking the shotcut shell script. Do not try to run bin/shotcut directly. You may need to install the following dependencies from their distribution (the exact names may vary): SDL, libexif, and JACK
