update first information made available

to promote Puppy perhaps it would be enough to update first information made available by sites as Quebec OS, and other similar sites. They are very outdated. Nobody takes care of what was done. Always starting from zero

puppy icon?

#122 Post by version2013 »

I would like to see Puppy Linux listed in https://www.gamingonlinux.com/users/statistics.

An email with 'liam' about such inclusion resulted in a reply "Ideally we need a high quality icon for it like the ones we have for all the others to add it in."

I replied saying one can find an icon on puppylinux.com.

liam replied "Sorry, but we need a proper icon not one ripped from their site."

Where can I find a proper icon?
Thanks.

Is the icon supposed to be like the .svg icons from the drop-down on the page you referenced when I click "Click for full statistics" button?
Examplehttps://www.gamingonlinux.com/templates ... Ubuntu.svg
Example:https://www.gamingonlinux.com/templates ... Debian.svg

Maybe someone can make one from an existing puppy linux background?
Looks to be gray-scale but I am not sure how to create the .svg

I have not received a response from 'liam' yet, so I can not be sure.

I have done some internet searching and found these:

I emailed 'liam' this link:

'liam' replied and said that they need one that is public domain.

GPL license does not qualify for that.
Maybe "liam" will finish it up if a good icon pic can be found?
I can't draw legibly.

Ok puppy artists we need a public domain puppy pic for an icon so Puppy Linux can be listed at
https://www.gamingonlinux.com/users/statistics

Well, for this usage of a public domain puppy linux icon, it appears it is no longer needed.
An icon has been created for puppy linux on gamingonlinux.com/

That icon will show up in the statistics page and next to user posts, that selected their OS as Puppy Linux.

Puppy is ,,,WOW

#131 Post by Dixie Dog »

I am a business owner, I need a good invoicing program that will work on my smaller Laptop, Puppy has Libre Office, and its the latest with all the bells and whistles, a FULL office program.

I am an Audiophile from 1970,,,,,Puppy has Audio Play back software that kicks butt.

Occasionally I get a dead SD card, will not open in Linux Mint, Windoz, MAC,,,,But Puppy has no problems opening the files and working with them

Have you read about Banking Security,,Puppy wins by a landslide for security.

Puppy has great calculators, and very powerful drive tools

Puppy comes with software, all kinds, click to install, I use Google Earth on mine.

Last on my list, Puppy has never yet locked up on me, ever.
And puppy boots in almost no time.

What I personally do not for promoting Puppy Linux but for making people live better:

1. Use it by myself most of time.

2. Put it on memory sticks and present as a gift to others

3. Use Puppy Linux while teaching people some Linux basics

4. Put some videos on youtube from time to time (DiletantOS channel)

5. Make it look more beautiful ;)
