Wicd Network Manager
Wicd Network Manager
Perhaps Wicd Network Manager can be shipped with puppy. Its interface is more intuitive. Did anyone manage to get Wicd working on puppy 5.10

wicd dependencies
Dear arky,
Wicd can work in Puppy if you install python, python-gtk and some other stuff. The dependencies are huge, so I assume it will never - on its own - ship with Puppy, which is meant to be a small distro. Python and its dependencies alone are larger than some Puppy distros in their entirety. It configured fine in my full blown development puppy, but I would not recommend it for standard Puppy distros the reasons I gave above.
With kind regards,
vovchik

It's in the package manager in Lupu or you can run Fluppy, which is the most heavily tested and recommended way to get it.

2017 : was successful once, with Pupjibaro shiba inu
2017 : was successful once, with Pupjibaro shiba inu, then stop working because of dbus someting. Josejp2424, the developer, will try too, he said.
No trouble with WICD in XenialDog, experimental OS
Waiting for some help, i browse the forum
Euh i don't really need WICD, it is brain storming on an idea of josejp2424. in 2017, tools for wireless are enough, perhaps too many. What we miss is the efficient drivers.

Merci (muchas gracias) rufwoof. Unfortuately WICD is not yet perfect... And me too. I am learning how to use it well; iT'S FOR BRAIN STORMING.
Wireless essentials are drivers compiled for Puppies (antennas) or not.
Then the last step is to have wireless available where you are and with enough strength. I had no problem at all before Christmas, no need of antenna. But since december, it has been awfull
