raffy in Manila is listed as a Moderator of this Forum.

Doubtless, he's a reasonable and approachable guy so just PM him with your wholly reasonable demands as to whom you want banned or suspended from this Forum.

PM sent.
If he does not want to sell it, perhaps he could make you a mod as I don't think
he has the time or patience to run it.

@James C

From what I heard, there was an almighty fight on there between several members and he decided to call it quits.
Could be wrong though.
Haven't visited there in a while but I do remember some members being banned.....

Hello people.

My ideas are getting clearer!! But still looking for your "vital" comments.
("No man is an island...")
The Puppy Test Bench Forum (title of the would-be forum)

-- You do the initial draft of your project solo, on your own computer.
-- When +/- half ready, you bring your project on the forum.

---- What do you need at this point? Why are you bringing your project to your peers?
For:
-------- Testing?
-------- Infos about an issue or a bug?
-------- One or more collaborators?
-------- Ideas for further development?
-------- A production timeline or calendar?
-------- Support files?
-------- Similar examples? (Has this been done before and how?)
-------- Other: _____________ (please state)

(There could be an acceptance procedure if needed. Two peers perhaps;
maximum 3. Two to avoid favoritism; over 3 would take too long, IMO.)

(The above items could be in a public sidebar or index card of sorts.)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Example Index Card for the project (completely fictitious!):
Project: Border_Collie_Pup --- Author: Jan Roundup
Mission Statement : This Pup will help shepherds in New
Zealand and elsewhere to train their border collies by offering
appropriate databases and docs.
Status of the project: Half cooked. At this point,
I have a basic DPup-6.7 plus a couple of specialized
databases about sheperding and dog training.
Nature of help needed: (one or more items of the above list)
1) Has something similar been done before?
----- What needs to be reviewed to make the "Border_Collie_Pup" current?
----- Do we need to integrate some of what exists?
2) Program X has missing libs that I can't seem to find.
3) Testing, from alpha version all the way to publication. (TIA)
Who's with me on this one? (names of co-operators go here)
Alfred,
Rachel,
Tom and
myself
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Is there a forum or forum structure that offers that already?
Or the reverse:
Is there a wiki or ProjMan site or software that does that, which already
has those features but can also have a forum or forum plug-in?

And of course if you think the above is complete non-sense or not...
That too!!! Please be honest! :)

TIA.

Hello again, people!

Anybody ever heard or tried or is a member of either
Code Project or OurProject.org?
(To be frank, someone mentioned Code Project on PM earlier tonight.)

Do you think that a "meta-Puppy code project" (for lack of a better
expression!) such as the one explained in the post above would fit in?

I visited those two sites tonight, and while I like the Code Project general
concept and set-up, its license would be too restrictive for Puppy work.

That leaves OurProject.org, widely known among Spanish-speakers
apparently and who already hosts the Argentinian Free Software
Foundation -- if I read their docs correctly. (Please see the wikipedia
article on them. Also, while they are based in Madrid, their software is
multi-lingual.)

Please share any experience or comment you have? Any alternative you
know of that would provide similar services for a song? 8)
(This song, for example! LMHO)

Another person mentioned over PM that we could tag the "meta-Puppy
code project" onto the present Puppy github, that it would be a natural
extension, that we would be well-received.

But with its complicated push-and-pull and other concepts, I would lean
towards answering "no" to that suggestion. (Of course only fools never
change their mind.) Furthermore, jlst, a Puppy github participant,
mentioned elsewhere that it doesn't have a forum?

As I said I'm a newbie groping in the dark in this area, so any help /
experience sharing / guidance will be much appreciated.

Have a great evening! BFN.

A tiny one for a dozen of devs,

I fully agree on a forum where only monks will pray, without asking users to go and play away.
A tiny one for a dozen of devs, and an huge one for our 500,000 puppy downloaders who could then speak about what they do with their Puppies, once installed
It's not because one christian became a priest that all christians want to do same. On the contrary they will be frightened by this future and run away the church (the forum)
