Run this command

Code: Select all

lspci -nnk > /root/out.gz
Attach the file /root/out.gz to your next message.

Most device problems are solved by upgrading the kernel to get newer drivers.

Your best bet is to upgrade to a 4.x kernel like Xenial. It may solve both the Ethernet and WiFi problems.

It will at least make things easier to fix.

If you want to stay with Tahrpup, you could change kernels as discussed here. But you may need an even newer kernel. What kernel was in Mint, where Ethernet worked?

it's "linuxmint-18.1-xfce-64bit", work fine, but i hope to keep my tools from puppy, like Avidemux and many others. For years I have been using Puppy, i hope to keep it.

I wasn't suggesting that you give up Puppy. I just want to find out what kernel works for you and what Puppy has it.

You didn't state what kernel version is in your Mint.
