Only first name appears when contacts are imported through a CSV file
How can we change it (apart by hand, of course)

I don't think you're being ignored, it's just that people don't use that feature often.
I'd recommend you don't "bump" your posts too, because it means they disappear from the list of unanswered posts.
I tested it by exporting my contacts to csv and then importing, and it works fine. So unless it is a bug in your version of SeaMonkey and not mine I'm guessing your csv has different column names or something. Did you try exporting a csv from SeaMonkey and comparing it to the one you're trying to import? Does the display name column show up in the list of fields when you import it?
