That's only a skeleton, just a kernel, does not have Quirky.

An alpha build of Quirky is expected to be released very soon.

Can someone who has downloaded fatdogarm-07-25-2016.zip tell me where does https://www.datafilehost.com/d/867a7328 download it to? I've told Firefox to ask me the dl location but datafilehost.com ignores that. I tried pFind while downloading but there's nothing new called fatdogarm. It wont fit on my system (as booted) so I have to cancel. It will fit on my detachable HDD.

Thanks. I did look on your archive.org page but it's dated 2014 and does not list rasPi as a supported platform. I had just spent my zest for exploration on datafilehost.com so was unable to unhide the files list.

I now have fatdogarm-07-25-2016.zip and the md5 is correct.

Tightvnc server can be used in fatdog arm. There is no need to install
extra software!!!

Here are my instructions

I used dropbear in background of both machines...

go to start menu ->
Network > X11VNC Server

follow instructions ---> make 5900 your open port
and select tightvnc

The display number is zero because of final digit of 5900

I went to my other computer which uses fatdog 710 64 bit

Go to start menu ->
Network > VNC Remote Desktop Viewer
I typed in

192.168.1.103:5900

where 192.168.1.103 was address of my raspberry pi2 board.

Password was entered and a window popped up immediately showing my raspberry pi desktop

Thanks for this RasPi distro.

You have given instructions for compiling but the link to the devx is now broken. Can you re-upload please.

The animation of the desktop pic is neat. I can't see how mtpaint is updating it. I'd prefer a static pic for now if that's possible? When I set one (with Nathans from control panel) it reverts to the clock at next update time. Does it matter that the sfs is copied to RAM?

Yes. Easy to do. I believe I put the script to update the clock
in the Startup folder in /root. Just drag it out and restart computer.
You should get a static clock. Feel free to change it.
I think it's located in /usr/share/backgrounds/

fd-arm.sfs always is copied to RAM. /etc folder is inside it.
I put some code in syslog init in /etc to create the first desktop with a clock ,
but after that the default desktop picture is used.

Wow even sources are distro version specific. Which version of slackware is this based on?

Thanks for compiling usb-modeswitch and links. I need to compile privoxy, tcpdump and xnetload
to get on the internet. I prefer Firefox to Seamonkey but the former is probably too greedy
for the RasPi-2! I might buy a RasPi-3 later. Any advice on getting these packages would be
much appreciated.

Use uextract to open packages up to study.
armhf packages from other sites such as redhat will sometimes work

For instance to get GIMP to work I would compile Babl and Gegl
and then compile Gimp 2.8.18 (but it take over hour to compile )

You might try lynx if you need a really fast browser. It's easy to compile.

The method to modify fd-arm.sfs file is easy.

On an intel linux PC I extracted James' fd-arm.sfs
Then i made changes to individual files . Then i created the fd-arm.sfs file again.

I've tested both linx an lynx, in the past, but I had settled on dillo and elinks for low power browsing when available. I'll see how links and links -g do when I get online.

I tested usb-modeswitch and had thought I could get online but now I find /sys/class/net/usb0 is not available according to Fatdog connect. I didn't check there nor ifconfig. It is in internet connection wizard in quirky werewolf (while still being invisible in ifconfig!?).

I have installed most of what I needed. I will need to install xfce to get the xnetload plugin. Then make a new fd-arm.sfs as you indicate.

How can one make a dual boot on the RasPi? For example a dual boot for Fatdog, Quirky and some other baremetal software (I know about a wip 8-bit microcomputer baremetal emulator). I've heard of something called U-Boot
Can this be installed on other arm devices like the Orange Pi?

I am storing the zip package on Google drive now.

I highly recommend using Windows sd card formatting software
to format your sd card to fat32.

I find that using linux gparted doesn't work.

General problems
================
If the system cannot boot, please zeros out your SD card first. Sometimes
leftover data prevents the system from starting.

To zeros SD card:
"dd if=/dev/zero of=/your/sdcard/device bs=4M"

and wait until it's finished, then re-partition the card.
