Whatsapp web bug on browsers?

#1 Post by caiosama »

Hello guys

I didnt have any problems with Whatsapp web, never in Palemoon, Firefox, Chrome or Chromium; until two days ago.

Now when im entering web.whatsapp.com, with the latest Chrome Portable (by shinobar), the screen goes black, nothing responds, the only thing that i can do is turn off the PC. This happened with the latest LxpupTarh, and with the latest Pupibaro (retro-Precise 5.7.1), so is not a Puppy bug, i guess...

With Palemoon, it "only" crash, and the console shows "Segmentation fault"

The only browser that have no problem at all is the latest Firefox (Portable by shinobar again)

Its only me? :?

Might be your cache.. Otherwise, FF's your man.

If you try Seamonkey, their site'll ask to store offline data. This could also be the cause.

Please, tell us what you actually do on that site.

If its an account you access, then they probably already have a cache stored on your box.

Maybe something here will help you.

The things they do not tell you, are usually the clue to solving the problem.

In other words

Code: Select all

exec /path/google-chrome --user-data-dir=/root/.config/google-chrome --disk-cache-size=10000000 --media-cache-size=10000000 --disable-gpu
or something like this :)

Yes, they say it will be fixed on the 25.7.5 version.

Desactivate the GPU doesn´t work for me :?

Anyway, i decide to uninstall that Chrome Portable, and choose the last Chromium pet of this forum, and voila! Whatsapp web is working on that.

WhatsApp Web browsers update

#9 Post by davids45 »

G'day,

My family use WhatsApp on our phones to share the latest family photos and news so I'd thought I'd try to get my Android phone's WhatsApp synchronised with my Puppified desktop computer via the WhatsAppWeb function.

I had no luck with old versions of browsers that I prefer (seamonkey, slimjet) - the scan by the phone of the image on the computer at whatsappweb site did nothing.

After reading the instructions from WhatsApp  , I downloaded a pet of firefox-45.6.0 and, once installed (in a Full Xenialpup-7.0.1), there was instant recognition by the phone of the WhatsAppWeb computer screen image and I can view my WhatsApp on Puppy with this late-ish Firefox.

Just need to have the phone nearby and on  .

Do any other recent Puppy-friendly browsers enable this sharing of WhatsApp - there are quite a few with recent forum threads?

David S.
