Hi.

Anyone knows how to setup Muse and/or QTractor for the use with an external Synthesizer/MIDI Keyboard?

Thanks.

No, but I gave my old drum kit away for free to a music store collecting instruments for refugees! Wink

Hi RSH, don't know about Muse but the Qtractor Author built it for himself initially to achieve that purpose, i.e external sound from external synths.

Well presumably you have midi pumping through to Qtractor, so I would look at CREATE TRACK, and then decide where you can route the incoming midi to the sequencer and then route it back out to the external synthesiser, and then save that as your default qtractor file.

As you can see from create track pic, that is where all the action will be happening with your midi device(s).
There is more detailed help in the manual(?) or at Qtractor forums.

Thanks Smithy.

I'd already tried these GUIs, though couldn't manage it.

The fault was to misinterpret the menu entries inputs / outputs (in DE, Eingänge / Ausgänge) as I thought this would be related to the track, since it's in tracks menu.

I was searching for a global setting of inputs and outputs, but couldn't found any.

After setting up the inputs and outputs from that tracks menu, I was able to setup QTractor for the use with my SY22 Synthesizer as well as for the use of the Software Synthesizers like FluidSynth, Hexter plus Hydrogen at track 10 for the Drums etc.pp.

I'm a little familiar with Rosegarden and now looking forward to do some work with QTractor.

Again thanks.
