My wifi SSID not being discovered during scan (Solved)

#1 Post by baronne »

Hi,
Am new to Puppy Linux (sorta). And am just trying out Quirky Xerus on an old Macbook 2006 (white unibody). Odd behaviour is that the WiFi interface is working as it detects other WiFi networks from neighbours, but for some reason doesn't detect mine! All my other devices connect to my network without any issues, I'm confused as to why I can't see it on Puppy?

Any ideas?

cheers

call off the dogs ... or pups rather... I managed to sort it... scanned the wifi a few times. Ended up connecting to my router and setting the channel to Auto and scanned again and puppy found it so... all good in the land... so far.

Welcome to Puppy.
Thanks for posting back with a result.
Always good for others to know.

Chris.

Sometimes with wifi interference happens from many sources.
Even ADSL can suffer interference from furnaces, dimmer switches,
street lighting etc.

The reason for this is the "CRD". Country Regional something.
Run QuickSetup and you will see the CRD setting, and a Help button that explains it.

This is in the latest Xerus, 8.1.5.
