We have to be suspicious of email attachments (Zip attachments), but as of now, images are a new way for hackers to infect computers.

There is nothing newsworthy about that.
Attacks via picture attachments have been around for years.

Many email clients refuse to open attached pictures directly for that very reason. This is just an extension of that.

Was going to post this very thing yesterday, but didn't want to sound cruel. Several of us posted about this same thing over the past year. Some of the news site just rehash the same stories, attempting to sound fresh & new.
