No, but I gave my old drum kit away for free to a music store collecting instruments for refugees!

Just checked in Precise 5.71. Xarchive extracted a .rar file for me without any issue.

If that doesn't work, maybe install unrar and see if Xarchive picks it up and works. That's what happens in older versions of Debian Dog.

I'm using mostly tahr 6.0.2. Thanks.
Thanks. Downloaded.

Xarchive didn't show the contents of the .rar archive here, in tahr 6.0.2.

Hello, Busy_Puppy !!! ;)

Try http://www.rarlab.com/rar/rarlinux-5.4.0.tar.gz?

From the horse's mouth! (In other words, from the original author.)
Download, unpack, enter the directory and run

Code: Select all

unrar | more
to see the options.

The rar executable in that package is a trial version, but the unrar is a
regular, unbridled, version.

IHTH. Let us know if it works?

Ok.

Even though, Xarchive didn't show contents of the .rar archive, unrar extracts it properly (extracted a VST looper .dll).

Some mentioned peazip (by PM) (gtk2 .deb) (gtk2 portable) (qt .deb) (qt portable) which I have tested also by the gtk2 portable version. File bv29.dll successfully extracted.

Tested also the http://www.rarlab.com/rar/rarlinux-5.4.0.tar.gz suggested by musher0. Package manager has 5.10 (already installed in tahr 6.0.2) which extracted the .rar archive successfully as well as the 5.40 version.

Thanks to all.

Hello all.

The author says in the docs that this unpackaging utility has no-strings
attached and can be distributed freely.

So here you go: the unrar utility for 32-bits Puppies.

Enjoy!
