Shodan is a search engine for the Internet of Things. Shodan allows users to find devices that are publicly accessible on the internet, and which may be vulnerable to hackers.

My Kung Fu is strong
Good news!
We found no vulnerabilities
We scanned your public IP address and it looks like your network is not reachable from the internet. This is good news. You should perform this scan again when you add new devices to your network.
Or, The desert is a cold lonely place on the internet of things.

It strikes me that this search engine could be keeping to itself any vulnerabilities that it finds.

It may be that ice-cream has no bones. But listeria instead.

But then. I never tend to over think these things.

The things I have connected to internet are PC and my 'smart' phone (which already is slave to Google).

So I think I am good untill I get too old and doctor replaces my testicles with shiny new internet connected ones....

Nah! keep the old ones.
The new ones are full of leaks and if you're like me you'll just have to get them disconnected again anyway. Its far more fun not having to worry about unwanted consequences.

I got mine free as the Misses was told another pregnancy could kill her so we discussed which of us was going for it.
I went and then 6 months later she fell ill and had to be done anyway.
It certainly beats gloves!!

Back to our regularly scheduled program, has labbe5 ever revisited a thread he started?

Labbe kind of seemed to respond to a comment in a recent message. I recall pointing it out as potential evidence that he is not a manifestation of an automated system. Prior to that, I was tempted to try to bait him into responding.

Oh, and by the way:

No glove, no love.

Only when he wants to talk to himself.

A second question might be has he ever started a thread that was not off topic?

I wonder if wifi printers are considered IoT devices? They are increasingly common and often sit there powered on all day.

Not only that, but many if not all all-in-one printer/scanner/copiers have a hard disk drive inside that records whatever's copied or printed. Modern copiers don't work like old-fashioned ones. Most copiers now are actually scanner/printers. The output of the scanner is recorded in the hard disk drive, though I'm not sure why, then fed to the printer. People have taken the hard disk drive from a discarded copier and been able to recover from the drive documents that had been copied.

The hard drive is for bulk copy.
I remember when I was studying and didn't have money for books, the copiers around the college area would have books scanned and saved on that drive.
I would just have to give name of book and he will start copy then spiral bind those pages and I would have low cost book to study from.
It saves them scanning each time again. And can copy months later too.
Every new functionality creates new issues.

And for frequently used templates too sometimes.
