I was running from the CD. Booted OK to the iBM laptop, not to a desktop on a sata DVD nor on a Dell laptop.

Hi Ttuuxxx booted to desktop on dell d620 and keyboard was normal.
2 gig ram installed connected to wpa2 connection with pwireless and I am posting from it now.

Flashplayback works if I set through alsa wizard.

Running live from unetbootin.

Hello All
Have done manual frugal install on a ide hd with other pups booting with grub. This is on an old Toshiba laptop 800MHz 320MB. Have a couple of problems one trivial the other more series. I have a PCMCIA card for WIfI and USB2. WiFi is working but not USB2. I've attached a screen shot of my USB info in the hope it will help. USB2 works with other pups. Any help much appreciated.

Hi Ttuxxx,

finally solved my problem with numlock coming on and giving me crazy keyboard problems on my Thinkpad it enables me to turn numlock off in X here is a link to the original thread. (Xsetnumlock)

Well Ttuuxxxy - its working real well I copied the xsetumlock script to /root/startup. I discovered you have glibc at 2.10 the same as wary wow thats pretty useful for retropup because of that I have firefox 38.8.0 working this is turning out to be a great pup.

Have partly solved my problem with PCMCIA USB2 by using another card. However, this is one of the one that stick out. It covers my WiFi card and reduces the strength of the WiFi. The one I was using is flush with the side so does not give problems with the WiFi. Can someone please tell me if it is possible to get the original card working or not. 2.14X Update 2 is very fast even on this old hardware. I have been using Lucid 5287s2 for a while but 2.14X Update 2 is faster particularly the browser.

Thanks for taking the time to look at this for me. I wouldn't know where to start. I am not in a hurry for a solution so if you can look at it again when you have time I'd be obliged. In a way it's nice to know that even those with a lot of knowledge like yourself have problems with things like usb. 2.14X 11 is a keeper for me. It is particularly good on my old hardware. If I can't get a solution for the usb problem I might see if I can get a different usb PCMCIA card that doesn't physically cover the wifi card.

Hope you don't mind me asking Ttuuxxx but would pwireless2 which of course works with wpa-cli work with classic pup as it fully supports wpa2 and I suppose frisbee is a nono - sorry to ask I don't know much about Puppy 2 to be honest?
