Subject description: XZ-compressed data is corrupt -- System Halted

Hello,
I downloaded LxPupSc 16.08.2 - the iso link given in this same thread.
http://archive.org/download/Puppy_Linux_Lxpup/LxPupSc-16.08.2.iso

Every thing went on fine. I booted / installed LxPupSc 18.0.2 using USB .

When I was supposed to boot from the HDD, it gave the following error:

Code:

Starting Up...
early console in extract_kernel
input-data: 0x01ef4108
input_len: 0x0050aedc
output_data:0x01000000
output_len:0x00d02b10
kernel_total_size:0x00ef4000

Decompressing Linux...
XZ-compressed data is corrupt
 --- System halted

can some one help me with this ? how to fix this error?
Thanks,
Prasad.

Sounds like a corrupt download...

Please download 16.08.1 and the 16.08.1-16.08.2 delta from sourceforge and check the md5's after applying the delta.

Peebee, I've had someone post that light-48.0 is playing youtube videos at a faster speed, I can confirm this on X-Slacko and X-Tahr. Is this the case with LxPup as well? I'm assuming it's html5 as no flash player is installed.

Afraid I don't know as that is now an old superceded version that I don't have a copy of.

Ally - grateful if you could delete it please - thanks.

I downloaded and tried using xdelta but I am getting the following error:

Quote:

bad magic number is given.
This is first time I am using Xdelta so I am doing some thing wrong and seems trivial.

Is built with latest 'testing' branch of woof-ce and therefore has:

- updated init system (sfs loading handled differently) - should not affect a system update

- pschedule / cron changes - if you have jobs setup you will need to check they update correctly (particularly snap2 jobs)

Do you mean as in it's displaying the video and audio too fast? Or that it's performing more smoothly? For what it's worth, light-46 was compiled with gcc 5.3.0, but about:buildconfig says that light-47 and 48 were compiled with clang 3.8.0 (to save size, maybe?). Not sure which is better, but I think I'll just stick with light-46 because I'm getting strange and inconsistent lag with light-48. Maybe I just need to reboot and try again after clearing my ram, but I didn't upgrade to 47 either, forget why now.

As in displaying too fast like 2x speed. Light-47.0 and Firefox-45-2.0esr play them normally.

Ah ok. So far for me, videos are playing at the correct speed, using light-48 gcc232 in slackware 14.2, just using HTML5. For the first few seconds performance is unusually bad (as in it keeps stopping and the wheel keeps turning) but it re-cooperates after that. If I click on the wheel at the bottom, it says Speed as Normal. The videos seem "wonky" though, like they're going faster and slower like a wave but trying to play at the right speed - haha. It's kind of weird and making me dizzy, the speed of loading everything seems off. I wonder what happens if you change Speed to 0.5? It's just the video that's too fast or the audio as well?

edit: light-46.0.en-US.linux-i686-gtk2 definitely loads things faster and more consistently than light-48 for me.

Please use the just released iso above.

xdelta - put the old iso and the delta file into the same folder and just click on the xdelta file to create the new iso.
