To open a "pup" file in Slacko 6.3, I need to find something called pup2pet? Is that correct?

Yes, as far as i know, but quite honestly i made quake PET from PUPs with unzip from Xterm...
PUPs are simple double packed files.

Those are the links to dropbox unserviceable.new server has only old puppies, so just released would be unavailable, strange.
