hi gents.. i'm a complete novice here.

i'm using puppy 2.13 on a gateway solo 1150 laptop.

i have a wireless card from compusa. it works in xp with supplied realtek software, and xp reports it as a realtek RTL8185.

in puppy, i have tried every available driver and none will show any available network or radio action.

i tried the ndiswrapper option using various inf files i find on the supplied wireless card cd. no results.

i have downloaded the rtl8185 linux driver gz file i got on the realtek website, but have no idea how to use it.

anyone please point me in the right direction.. i like puppy, and want to get online with it.

For a start use Start/Utilities/XArchive to unpack the file and see if there is a README text file in it, if so read it and it should give you instructions on how to install the driver.
