Thanks for the update. I noticed that the flash plugin was disabled by default (I think all plugins were disabled) though I had it enabled in my previous Tor-browser profile. It did work when I enabled it. No complaints about 11.2.

Youtube seemed to use HTML5 by default, though...

Thanks for the reply on that. I hardly ever use Tor Browser so it is probably pilot error on my part, but with 5.0.4 provided I enable plugins it was working with FlashPlayer 10.3 or 11.2 with just the "allow" dialogue popping up sometimes. When I try exactly the same thing with 5.0.5 the video window is just redirecting to the Adobe page for installing FlashPlayer 20. Anyway, will continue to test when I get some time and see if I can figure it out.

A very quick bug-fix update 5.0.6 has been released so the packages are updated accordingly.

I still found that my Flash Player would not work at all with the default settings or by enabling plugins in the Preferences in the normal way. On the TorProject blog post there are lots of other similar complaints including from people running Windows and Flash 20 so looks like it is not just a problem of the Flash number in Linux being stuck on 11.2

Some of the purists on the Tor blog are insisting very loudly that Adobe Flash should not be used with Tor anyway because of the vulnerabilities, but there may be occasions when you need Flash player for something. So long as you activate it at your own risk and disable it again when you have finished it makes more sense to have it available rather than completely disabled.

The workaround to enable Flash (at the expense of one of your privacy settings) now seems to be to uncheck the option "Change details that distinguish you from other Tor Browser users" in the Privacy and Security Settings of the Tor "Green Onion" button.

Further testing showed flash problems for me, too. It would work on some sites but not others. Your workaround seems to solve it.

With the new version 5.5, Youtube would always use HTML5 for me, even with the workaround (above). That uses considerably more resources that my old computer can't afford, so I tried this addon and it made flash work on Youtube:

I wondered why the latest Tor browser packages are much larger, and it looks like there's a new font directory included. It's /root/my-applications/tor-browser/Browser/fonts and is about 25M. I tried deleting it and the browser seems to work fine without it.

Another one?!?!?

Thanks as always for your updates of TBB and many other "puppified" goodies at smokey's place. But seriously, how often is the Tor project going to issue new versions, anyway? If I see that "browser is out of date" thing one more time......

Another new version 5.5.4 is out now. I have put together a 64bit version as well. I might have to host those at Yandex Disk though. This has been tested briefly in Tahrpup64 and Slacko64. Auto Updates appear to be working. See first post.

Packages were updated to latest version which is 5.5.5 some days ago.
Updates are released fairly often so I don't always bump the thread with a fresh post at the end.
See thread title and first post.
Auto updates should work if they are allowed in Preferences settings.

Packages for 32bit and 64bit as .pet and .sfs now updated to Version 6.0.5
Note that 32bit packages are in http://smokey01.com/OscarTalks
But 64bit packages are in Yandex Disk storage https://yadi.sk/d/7AkxbX4NqJUah
Auto updates should be working if allowed in Preferences.
Personally I like to uninstall or unload and delete all profile data, then install or load the latest version afresh.

Version upgrade from 6.0.8 to 6.5

The minor updates happen fairly often and I try to upload packages fairly quickly but I don't always bump the thread every time.

Version update to 7.0.1
EDIT:- Update to 7.0.2

They compile their own version of Firefox (ESR)
This does not need GTK+3
It does need pulse audio but adding the apulse libraries internally seems to work so I have done that.

Note that 32bit packages are in http://smokey01.com/OscarTalks
But 64bit packages are in Yandex Disk storage https://yadi.sk/d/7AkxbX4NqJUah?force_show=1

Version update to 7.0.7
This now has content sandbox enabled by default which stops apulse from working and youtube videos don't play.
So that has to be addressed. I'm not sure if I have done that in the best way but I have things playing during my brief tests.
Folks may wish to experiment further or suggest other options.
See first post for more information and downloads.

EDIT:- There have been some concerns about a vulnerability.
Version 7.0.9 has fixed this.

Version 8.0
Now requires GTK+3
Tested briefly and worked in Wheezy (i686 version) and Xenial64 (x86_64 version)
For some earlier Puppies, install gtk+3 or libgtk-3 via PPM.

Uploaded for testing to Yandex Disk storage (both 32bit and 64bit versions)
https://yadi.sk/d/7AkxbX4NqJUah?force_show=1
Older version 7.5.6 left there as well at least for a while.
See first post for more information.
