A graphical version of this, "muCommander", is available in the forum, as well. Full drag and drop abilities. Runs for both 32bit and 64bit distros.

This is the latest Midnight Commander.

It is a console based file commander...

Pls copy that forum thread here.

console based

I see now.

So, i have an ISO.

I would like to build a boot cd with new kernel and busybox, text based file commander and webbrowser.

This is my first attempt to build a small live system:

Now, i have built mc, links and lynx...

http://skamilinux.hu/?p=10970
http://skamilinux.hu/?p=10982
http://skamilinux.hu/?p=10978

I am thinking now which would be the right choice.
Maybe eLinks, or w3m.

Not to mention i need some other progs to compile maybe to create a simple system. Some dependencies are missing and some script, like ethernet and wi-fi setup...after that audio function...
Building a core system.

I see, now, your aim for a terminal/console based system. The graphical filemanagers may not be desired.

"I would like to build a boot cd with new kernel and busybox, text based file commander and webbrowser. " :( Hungarians are getting bad...
Yet it was not easy to speak magyar, if i had to speak linux, it's the end of the friendly partnership.
Browser Linux and Slacko 5.3.3 thin in hungarian version are tiny... but friendly.
You will be able to count users on your ten fingers for this boot CD... perhaps one hand will be enough... Why not an 8 bit version ...

mc.ext file for midneight commander

#10 Post by dancytron »

When I was actively messing around with the Raspberry Pi (first version), I spent some time configuring Midnight Commander's file associations. I moved it over to Debian Dog, but then lost interest.

My work might be of some use.

Instructions in the attached files. Remove .zip extension and open in text editor to read.
