F.lux for Linux - screen color control

#1 Post by labbe5 »

With Mintpup, you can easily add PPA, and with RemasterCow, make a SFS, and use it. The PPA is needed just once, you don't need to have it in your repositories permanently. Once the SFS is created, you can get rid of this PPA :

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:kilian/f.lux
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install fluxgui

This app is convenient because blue light emitted by bright screens wrecks your sleep, if you are exposed to it long after sunset. F.lux is emitting a warmer light, depending on the time of day. Near sunset time, light will be warmer, and during day time the light emitted from sreens will be blue.

Redshift GUI works, doesn't need all the dependencies that F.lux requires, see here http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic. ... 778#861967
