To All Interested Parties,
A recent visitor to sidder's threads to HSB 4.12 and 4.31 found that all the links were dead. I've located in my archives all (most?) the iso's that sidders made for the Puppy4 series, and I've posted them on a mydrive account:
1) Go to http://www.mydrive.ch
2) Sign on with username "puppyt" and password "puppylinux"
3) The files are located in the HSB>ISOs directory
Currently this repository has:
Hansamben.iso 211 MB (Puppy 4.12)
HanSamBen431.iso 219 MB (Puppy 4.31)
HanSamBenLivecdOz.iso 174 MB (Kiosk version for Australian audience)
Hansambenretro.sfs 270 MB (Puppy 4.31 on an earlier kernel)
My intention is to post any pets or sfs' that sidders made for his creations also at this location. Please post/PM/flame for any particular requests and I can accelerate their recovery. (Mountains of CD archives, poor internet service from home etc etc). Let me know if MD5's are required too, or you find errors in the uploads.
My real interest has been to have a permanent repository for "Puppy 4 Kids" -type puplets: EduPup, HSB, GamesPup216 - even Growler, Hurt-Me-Plenty and sc0ttman's Arcade pups for the kids-at-heart. Hoping that any mirror men reading this might agree...

same more icons kde, dosgames, kidsplay... after new start
Sorry my english:beyondbeige wrote:Hi,
HanSamBen 431 full install with Etoys & Childsplay loaded (using the links from sidders first post above).
On each pc re-boot an extra icon for Etoys & Childsplay is created on the desktop (the icons are created on top of one another).
I have installed HanSamBen on two pc's, both have this problem; otherwise runs great.
At a guess this icon creation is in a start-up script somewhere, anyone know what I need to change?
After first install of these games at desktop I deleted all files that describes these games icons in /Startup folder and after save and reboot, it helped!!!! No more extra same icons!
Great thing this HanSamBen 431 and Puppy linux. Thanks from my children!!!!

G'day Sidders or AnyBody eLse that Can Help
I've put Me own picture in usr/share/backgrounds, But it seems that Nathans Wallpaper Setter isn't working, could I be doing something wrong or is it a known bug? is there a Work-around?
I Do quite like the Features of this Puplet, altho I Do Realise that the Dingo Base is quite Mature & there is a Newer 511, But Again I'm a bit sentimental w/ Dingo & this will be running on PCs w/ Only 512 Mb RAMemory, Frugal install, 1 Gb Swap Partition
Thanx 4 Your Help :)K

Max Headroom. What size is this new image background, and what is it's format - .jpg, .png, etc?
Are you still using the original default background? If so, try this. First of all - make a backup of the background you are using. Record the exact size and the format - .jpg, etc. Resize your picture to the same area and format - then rename it to the one you have been successfully with. Restart your computer. Hopefully this will work. If it does not, and all goes pear-shaped, simply replace with the original.
