I would love to use LXPUP as a backup method but I can't seem to get QT4-FSARCHIVER installed in it to use. I tried today on version 13 by finding a PET on a japanese website, but I get a fail due to a missing liblzo2.so.2 file.

My intent is to be able to boot from the usb, use that particular program to clone the partitions to external hard disk, and then be able to boot from USB again whenever necessary to reinstall the backups.

I am not very good at the mechanics of LXPUP but if you could consider adding this to the toolkit I would appreciate it greatly!

Ok, well, I guess most folks have moved on to another bone to chew however, I need to share a problem encountered in LxPup 15.05 PAE....

Running a .2fs "save" file for a particular laptop, one sad day I elected to plug an external monitor into the laptop's vga port. It Worked fine.

HOWEVER subsequent reboots will not load mouse or keyboard without that monitor plugged in.
Of course, after finally figuring the problem out,I tried reversing it with "Monitor Settings"(Exec=lxrandr) in Applications to make it go away, but the (wrong) setting was persistent....of course I saved sessions after tweaks.

To make a long story short, I had to replace xorg.conf from /root/.etc/X11 folder with a version from another .2fs "save" file by booting up in that "save", copying the xorg.conf to a neutral zone on the usb stick, rebooting into the bad" save" and overwriting the bad xorg.conf.

This fixed it.

Unknown if it's particular to LxPup 15.05 PAE, or my old HP 64 bit(win7) laptop, or me but if it's not my gut feeling is it has to do with lxrandr...

This is the Slackware-14.1 version of LxPup based on 01micko's new 32-bit woof-ce built slacko-6.3.0 but with kernel 4.2.5-pae from Stemsee - with many thanks to both of them

This is a "proper" LxPup and identifies as such, so upgrade from LxPup-15.06 should be possible however there are 2 files that will need to be deleted after the upgrade:

• /root/.config/autostart/firewallstaterun.desktop
  /root/.config/autostart/freememapplet_tray.desktop

I would be particularly interested to hear from anybody using the following drivers:

• Broadcom wl (only available after activation)
  MediaTech/Ralink MT7601u
  ndiswrapper

Interesting - is there anything in dmesg? Does lsmod show the wl driver loaded?

If you have a chance - does vanilla slacko-6.3.0 support your wifi?

I'm interested because:
a. this is a new version of the wl driver - 223.271
b. I had lots of problems compiling it and then getting it to load correctly without giving kernel signing errors under k4.2.5
c. I used to be able to test with my ancient HP550 laptop with a 4312 device, but this new wl seems to ignore it (b43 works).

So I've included it in the iso without being able to fully test.....

Stemsee has said he will include the driver in his future kernel builds....but I think the firmware will still be needed in addition.

I can test this as I have a usb wifi dongle with the mt7601 chip (sold to me fraudulently on ebay by a seller who described it differently - I got a refund)

My pet has depmod -a in its pinstall.sh but I don't think it gets run properly when building a new system with woofy...so a reboot is needed - or I need to force a depmod -a on first boot.

In my experience, if I delete:

Never seen that - suspect it must be something you've done....

Removing hidden config files is a dangerous occupation with unknown results!!

What you may not know or realise is that LxPup uses lxpanelx whereas most lxde systems use lxpanel - they are different.....

The hidden .config files are related and deleting one of them will have unknown consequences. They are there to make lxpanelx appear like lxpanel to the rest of the lxde components.

I think it would be wise to start over with a clean system and check that that works correctly first.
