Manual setup EPSON XP-200

#1 Post by Ian »

This is how I set my XP-200 up for wireless, it might work for other wireless printers.

CUPS EPSON XP-200 Wireless Manual Setup Puppy Linux Precise 5.7.1

A.

You will need to know the ip address of your printer.
Most routers use the address ranges 10.1.1.1 or 192.168.1.1

If you know the address of your printer skip to B. else read on.

If you have more than one device attached to your network (apart from your own computer) you can install arp-scan from the Packet Manager in Menu Setup and use it to find the addresses of all devices (apart from your own) on your network.

You can try entering the addresses one at a time in the URL field of your browser to see if one opens a web page for your printer.

B.

Create a link in /lib by clicking on console, at the top of the screen and typing in:

ln -s /lib/ld-2.15.so /lib/ld-lsb.so.3

and pressing Enter.

Click Setup then click Setup CUPS printing

Click Administration

Click ‘Add Printer’

Click in LPD/LPR Host or Printer, click ‘Continue’

In Connection type :- ://ip address (of your printer):515/PASSTHRU i.e

lpd://192.168.1.9:515/PASSTHRU

Click ‘Continue’, in the Make list select your printer make

Click ‘Continue’ and select your printer Model

Click ‘Add Printer’

Click ‘Set Default Options’

Your printer should be ready to print wirelessly

# You may need to load a module for your printer if it is not listed in CUPS.
I used this one for the XP-200:

epson-inkjet-printer-201204w_1.0.0-1lsb3.2_i386.deb
