For what it's worth, I've had no mouse problems at all, though I guess I should add "yet"..musher0 wrote:Hello, all.
Has any user experienced the mouse freeze bug in LibrePup?
I have several times in the past two weeks, and it's not funny. It's been
reported in Trisquel proper, and in the fathering Ubuntu distro. But
contrary to what was said in those bug reports, changing the apic or the
acpi settings on the grub launch line doesn't seem to bring any
improvement. Once you have this problem, it stays with you at each
session and you have to create a new pupsave file. I tried changing
video drivers in xorgwizard, but that seemed to make things worse.
It's really a downer to have to redo your pupsave file every few days
because of this random freeze. Could it be something to do with hardware
acceleration generally in this totally libre distro? Or maybe I'm talking
through my hat. In any case...
Also, who of the LibrePup users have vlc playing DVD's? I know I don't.
The exact same version of vlc plays them great in tahr-6.02. Can't figure
this bug out. Additionally, the vlc icon gets stuck in the tray bar when
you close vlc. Every time I've used vlc, I had to kill it with htop "# 9 kill"
to really close it. And vlc uses 100 % of your computer's resources, of
course, while theoretically "closed".
mplayer2 works a charm, however, in LibrePup.
As bert mentioned above, I'm reporting, not complaining. I really like the
concept of LibrePup and would like it to succeed fully.
BFN.

And VLC plays dvd's correctly, shuts down fine ( no icon in the tray) and barely bothers my cpu.
